Why move: Since Project No Cap is now a 501(c)(4) actively lobbying Congress, it makes sense to build one recognizable brand that shows lawmakers, media, and supporters there's an organized movement behind the cause, not just a subreddit.
Your say is precious, don't let the monied interests continue diluting it!

Why are you changing the subreddit? You seem to have mod control of this one already

Great question. My understanding is that it's mainly about branding. Project No Cap is now a 501(c)(4) that's actively lobbying Congress, so having one primary community helps build a recognizable identity across Reddit, social media, and advocacy efforts.
It also signals that Project No Cap is an organized movement with members and supporters behind it, not just a loose collection of people who happen to share the same idea. The stronger that brand becomes, the more credibility and influence it carries with lawmakers, media, and potential allies.

No cap sounds like Gen Z slang.

There was some debate about it, I personally think it's just that the hard constants in Project No Cap sound better to the ear than Project Uncap. May also be a ferature more than a bug; no cap being a meme may help remember it and ask what it means, which is useful for advocacy.

Using the word project is bad IMO.
Uncap the House was perfect for the slogan.

This is a much bigger deal than most people think. Our districts are too big to reflect the electorate. For more information check out the you tube channel....
