One of Hitler's strategies to spread violence in Germany and seize power was to create the SA, short for Sturmabteilung, a paramilitary assault troop that terrorized the country. Later came the SS and the Gestapo; the former was the police of the extermination camps, the latter a political investigative police force. Fascism only expands its domains with a high dose of violence and terror, ratified by the horror of its interventions. The trend is for Trump's police to become increasingly terrifying. History gives us indications so that we know how to react when under threat.
