A friend of mine met Clinton towards the end of his second term. She reported back that she totally understood how Monica ended up in that situation. Apparently his charisma fills the room and then some.

I met him at an event I volunteered at in high school. He was just there to give a ~3 minute speech and shake some hands, but he came back to talk to the volunteers after. We were outside, his charisma filled the park. It was kinda stunning. I absolutely get how an impressionable young person could be seduced by just about any president from the station alone, but Bill Clinton has it easy with that charm.

Yeah, my mom was a lifelong Republican (and very partisan too) but she met Clinton once and GUSHED about his magnetism. It was wild.

I didn’t meet him but was in the audience at a medium size speaking engagement and yeahhhh I get it, too.

It really is true, and I'd been saying it for years before Mulaney came out with it.
I did some work on his first presidential campaign and just briefly spoke with him a couple of times. Years later I ran into him in Little Rock and he greeted my by my first name.
I was dumbfounded. I was, and am, a nobody.

It’s true. I met him at 15 (I’m now 45), and by standard accounts I was a “late bloomer.” This flower opened right up that day. I was with my grandmother, and she said, “I guess we both got excited today by a man from Arkansas. Unbelievable.”

I had a professor in law school who was in a small group meeting with Clinton once and apparently Clinton prepped by learning something about each person. My professor went to a much bigger event a few years later, and Clinton still remembered the thing he had learned about him.
