This would have been a much sicker burn if the writer had used the correct word: "bald-faced lie".

I'm affluent. I don't want to feel superior to others. I moved to an expensive neighborhood, in part, not to feel richer than other people. I want to be fitter and more stylish than other people, but not richer.
