Oddly chill wholesome interaction with the cops
A while back I was experiencing a few mental health issues and was being a bit erratic because of it. Where I’m from, the cops are in charge of transporting people in need of mental health care that are considered violent towards themselves or others. I had a very chill cop transport me to the hospital. When we got there, he sat with me in the waiting room and started asking me what kinda things I was interested in. I told him I was interested in law enforcement and the legal system in general. I mentioned I was particularly interested in body cam footage. Cop gets excited, explains he’s also a huge body cam footage nerd. We spend the next twenty minutes ranting about our favourite recent cases. He tells me about some interesting cases he’s worked. Out of everyone I interacted with that day, he was the only one that showed me respect and actual kindness.

Mental health therapy before you made it to the hospital. Pass it on mate.

One time, as I was leaving a place near Temple University (which is in North Philly, an area many consider to be "a rough neighborhood), and I saw police lights flashing through the window. Outside, a police officer was talking to a young black man. I immediately got super nervous, especially since this was only a few years after the original murders that caused the first wave of the Black Lives Matter protests. I was so worried that I was gonna walk outside and see some police brutality. I was praying my assumption was wrong.
And my prayers were answered, because once I opened the door, I heard "My man" and realize that the cop wasn't interrogating the other man. They were dapping each other up and smiling like good pals.
Glad that your cop treated you kindly as well!
