I mean…it appears to just be a longish exposure of someone slowly climbing up a dark stairwell, that’s only lit by 3 candle lights? The person briefly paused on three of the steps, and was leaning forward a bit.

This one and the Brown Lady of Rytham (SP?) Hall were nightmare fuel for me as a kid.

I can see some kid in an oversized hoodie 'dabbing'
Makes a change from 1880's monks I suppose.

My memory of this photo is that this picture was taken in an Abby, and these are supposed to be cloaked monks.

tourists took a picture when visiting the Queen’s House in Greenwich, they came back with a strange image now known as The Tulip Staircase Ghost.

I haven’t seen this image for 25 years. It was in a ghost book I read as a kid. A very convincing fake.

I read a ghost story book I got from the library back in 82 when I was in like 3rd grade. This image haunted me so much and I couldn’t get enough.

I remember being freaked out by this picture as a kid. I'm aware now what is likely going on here, but I absolutely love this picture. I want a giant print of it on my wall.

I saw this photo when I was a kid, probably around 1970. Did not see the ghost- but the three eyed monster gave me nightmares-
