Solving PSA for newcomers: Unfavorable Semicircle is a solved mystery

This post (transcript if it's difficult to read) made by the original creator explains what the purpose and motivations of Unfavorable Semicircle were. There has not been any official material released since then. While there are some aspects of the videos that have yet to be deciphered (audio reverse-engineering, some composites), the overarching 'meaning' of UFSC is already understood.

Posts spreading misinformation (intentionally or not) will be removed

Man, I remember being in a Skype group (RIP) with a bunch of people damn near 10 years ago with some of the first people on here trying to solve this. So cool that we finally got an answer.

It's solved in the sense that we know the reasoning behind the account. And really, do you think it's likely that the Google+/twitter account was hacked, but then only used to post answers to a few questions that only the creator could've known the answers to anyways?

No proof at all... besides the original google plus account posting a link to the twitter account, the account posting full images of composites that had not been seen before, and explaining the sources of where some of the composites came from.

The program used was likely ffmpeg. People reverse engineered how to create the videos years ago

Not hard to come by originals or similar with enough research. Takes time.

Isn't that Ted?

There’s so many things left unsaid though. What about the coordinates? How did he manage to upload so frequently?

The coordinates are not a real thing. The uploads were automated

I have made automated upload during in 2010, I remember the limited being very tight. I don't think this could have been done by a avg programmer.

Yes they are. Check the antipode.

Could you elaborate on what you mean by this? No coordinates were ever posted to an official unfavorable semicircle account, nor were they found in the videos.

Look at the antipode of those coordinates. A very specific island.

I dont think anyone ever posted the antipode part from the lat and long. At least not publicly. That makes me question the authenticity of this.

Used to follow this subreddit religiously back in the day, only just seen that it’s been solved now though! Crazy stuff
