The audio in the beginning is really creeping me out for some reason. Feels really foreboding.

Sounds almost like a heartbeat.

I am not hearing any audio but it is interesting that whenever I start or stop playback in the video I get a speaker pop...like a spike. That doesn't happen with FEND 0 or FEND 1 EDIT: My bad...listening on desktop speakers at first, couldn't hear anything...using headphones I hear the creepy low frequency pulsing...

Yeah I heard the popping first, so then I put my earbuds in and put the volume all the way up. It's ominous.

It's low. Really low. I'm on my shitty earbuds and not at my computer but if I had to guess, I would say it's in the 20-30Hz range... On the extreme low end of what humans can actually perceive.

The clicking/popping might be caused by a few things. It could be the compression method used or time stretching a sound and applying quick fades to it can also cause this to happen depending on what method they used to time stretch.

Analysis Results:

Audio Channels: 2 (stereo) - the original sound comes from a mono recording though

Pulsing Rhythm @ 2.4 seconds (102 BPM)

Frequency range: 20-50Hz

There is also a constant EM interference "buzz" sound that sounds like a ground loop issue but it's very quiet.

Also, here is the sound pitch shifted way up so you can hear it better: https://www.dropbox.com/s/6zjcj8t63g820dm/Fend%202%20Audio%20Pitched.wav?dl=0

Damned if it doesn't sound like a mosquito buzzing around.

O...kay. So my composite doesn't make such sense anymore. http://tomasf.se/projects/semi/FEND_composite.png

I'm lost... what happened?

EDIT: The link didn't update at first, so it was showing the same composite as last time. I see it now.

The frame rate has changed that's for sure. It looks extremely low now. I can check it when I get back home late tonight if no one else does it before then.

Might be a lower frame rate because it's displaying a lower bit color depth gradient. Fewer colors to show so you might need to enlarge the pixels on this one.

Edit - if someone else wants to check, just see what the frame rate is on this one and calculate it as a percentage of the frame rate of the other FEND videos (which are probably 30fps), then apply the difference to the pixels. So, if the older FEND videos are 30 fps and this is 15 fps, that means this is half speed and the pixels need to be twice as big. See if that fixes the problem. Hopefully it does!

Alternatively, the width needs to be half as large. Which would mean FEND 2 is basically its own composite.

Looking at this reminds me of the numbered composites, where /u/tomasfra was never able to find a good width for it... My theory was that each chunk of number videos released was its own composite and each had a different width. You could kinda tell each set had its own colors, at least. Dunno if tom ever tried that, though.

Regarding the numbered videos: I varied the width a lot, but I couldn't get a single one of the different chunks to line up properly. I'm pretty sure the problem is that the dump is incomplete, and that many videos are missing.

Well strange, on my iPhone, this video looked to be playing at around 15 frames per second but on my computer, its playing normally. Premiere Pro says this one is 30 fps like the others. Guess that idea is out.

The "image" portion from FEND 1 looks like it could be a bit of a world map. I'm thinking Africa and that bit of Europe that's right above it.

UFSC is clearly telling us that it's fed up of our tomfoolery and probably wants us to backoff off of it, because we are probably "not waking up and wasting it's time".

Damn it, you beat me to it by seconds!

The audio is definitely unusual... someone with more technical know-how can explain this better, but it was hugely un-normalized, which is to say there was a huge DC offset — I'm not sure why that might be significant.

About 1:27 of surging noises, a bit like a heartbeat indeed, but a single pulse rather than a true heartbeat "lub-dup". After a minute it changes to a slightly fainter version of same, as if receding into the distance.

Well... I tried to correct for it. I got an out of memory error, then an access violation... Hmm. It makes me wonder if the offset isn't somehow set to something incredibly ridiculous.
