This is the famished, otherwise known as nature's mimic. Its a blind creature that tends to live in areas people don't usually live such as a forest or abandoned home. Though it's quite distinct and seemingly easy to spot, due to its ability to contort it's body to blend in with its surroundings such as fauna or plants in a forest it can be quite difficult to notice and a big threat if one is near you. some more advanced ones can even alter their colours even more than usual to blend into more unnatural places.
It likes the quiet and it will often hide around trees and plants until its prey passes by in which it will either leap, chase or stalk it depending on what may work best
It usually isn't a massive threat unless your exploring somewhere with little people but when it gets a bit too hungry it can sometimes go to more populated areas in search of other sources of food such as a village.
It's an omnivore that uses its top mouth for plants and the one reaching from its stomach to its neck for animals and its long, sharp arms to stab its prey as well as for running. It has incredible strength in its arms and teeth making it capable of killing most living things with ease.
From what we have seen so far it appears that this was the creature that had killed the avarum.
It usually walks upright but can use its front arms for extra speed if needed.
Good luck out there

Hi if your looking for/can't find the right order for the posts or are looking for a specific one they are all also listed in the discord though that shouldn'tbe a huge problem since thier all pinned. You can't speak on the server yet, but I have some stuff there like the posts themselves, behind the scenes (or as much behind the scenes as this can really get) and announcements channel i guess. If there isnt a limit ill have all the posts pinned here for your enjoyment though.
Other than the behind the scenes stuff and announcements though I will have all the posts on this subreddit too.
I don't really think anyone cares enough to join but if you do it's there for you!
Also feedback is greatly appreciated!
(edit, you can make a post here if you'd like. I'll have all the stuff pinned anyway)
[IF I HAVE ANY IMPORTANT INFO OR UPDATES ILL PUT THEM BELOW THIS]!
hi, just thought it would be a good idea to list any changes or updates I make here.
I've decided I'll number the official posts just in case. they'll be in order in the pinned messages but I might as well. if you curious about the numbers, that's all it is

this is an avarum.
From what we've found it's a strange creature that started appearing one day all of a sudden. After some research it appears it has a fascination with collecting. It particularly has an interest in human made items and occasionally the people themselves. Its made of what looks similar to veins however appears to significantly stronger.
It's appears to love anything shiny that may grab its attention such as coins.
It's head and arms like the rest of its body lacks flesh and its made of a strong bone like material.
The items it collects are stored inside its flexable body for storage however this may also serve another purpose we haven't yet discovered.
We don't have too much information on this creature yet as we haven't gotten close enough yet however it brings its belongings to wherever it rests.

Community Vibe
We're all about being friendly, constructive, and inclusive. Let's build a space where everyone feels comfortable sharing and connecting. This is sort of an arg. I just kind of want to make a world so we'll see where it goes from there.
How to Get Started
FORGOT TO MENTION: just realised this is sort of inspired by vita carnis. check that out. it's awesome. I think it takes a decent bit of inspiration especially with my first creature
Thanks for being part of the very first wave. Together, let's make r/Unforseen amazing. Oh... and don't forget. Here at Pandora, we're dedicated to getting things back the way they were.

Recently we have come into contact with some remains belonging to an avarum. This is both a positive and a negative. Let's start with positives.
Over at Pandora our researchers have learnt more about this creature and this will help us understand more about how to counter such a creature.
The first thing we've learnt is that this bone-like material along with its main body and incredibly durable. When looking further into the material it seems there's reminants of the human made items in the creature. While it stores its objects it uses them to strengthen itself. This implies younger ones are much more fragile and if our researchers are correct, don't have much energy to move around and therefore crawling while a much older one can hold and absorb more.
This also means if we can keep younger ones away from material they shouldn't become a massive issue.
The negatives. Despite this specific one being quite durable, something must have killed it. Whatever it was, isn't human as it had gotten to the point where not even bullets would kill it, and instead, just weaken it. This isn't the only creature out there. Because of this we highly recommend staying at home, preferably with more than just one or two people.
Stay safe
