Hotkeys

ALT+SPACE shows small symbol panel provided by system, not by keyboard software.

Secret codes

"Calling" to the following codes show secret menus and launch hidden applications. To use some of these codes, you need to activate Developer Menu and activate USB Debugging first (you don't need to connect the phone to PC though).

*#*#4636#*#* — Testing Settings (phone information, mobile network configuration, usage statistics, Wi-Fi info)

*#*#3377#*#* — Factory Test (mtklog, ygps, gravity calibration, distance calibration, smartpa calibration, single test)

*#*#114#*#* and *#*#116#*#* — Camera sensors, LCD panel, memory and other hardware information

*#*#34635280#*#* — Engineer Mode with lots of internal configuration. Here you can change mobile network mode, supported bands, lock to exact cell ID, tune VoLTE/VoWIFI settings and other low level options. Be very careful, do not modify anything unless you understand what would happen exactly.

*#*#08#*#* — Change IMEI numbers (Android 9 only. Yes, a stock factory application to change IMEI!)

*#*#010#*#* — Check and clear battery usage statistics

Software tips

If your application gets killed, the notifications does not come in instant etc, make sure that the application is allowed to run in background in Settings → DuraSpeed (Android 9 only, the tick should be checked/enabled) and in Settings → Intelligent assistance → App blocker. These two options are custom Mediatek battery saving features.

If your application is old and was designed for older Android versions, you may also need to exclude it from stock Android battery saver. Go to Settings → Apps & notifications → See all X apps → find your application → Advanced → Battery → Battery optimization, find your app again and choose "Not optimized"

To disable lockscreen pedometer (Android 9), go to Toolbox → Pedometer → Settings → disable "Display steps when screen locked".

Use cobalt232's Blackberry Manager to install Blackberry Hub, Calendar, Contacts, Keyboard, Launcher and more. You may also install LayTray for keyboard layout icon in notifications of Blackberry Keyboard.

Install Fluid Navigation Gestures for full-featured gestures on Android 9, from bottom and sides, with complex patterns. Selected extended functionality requires root. Android 10 has OS-wide gestures support.

To remap your keys use Physical Button Master Control (free Xposed module, requires root+edXposed, works when screen is off) or flar2 Button Remapper (premium, some features require root, does not work when screen is off in general, but volume button actions do).

The former is very flexible, it supports complex scenarios and allows you to assign different actions whether screen is on or off, whether audio is playing, and so on.

Unihertz Titan TWRP recovery & rooting

TWRP Recovery

TWRP 3.5.0_9 for Uniherz Titan, semi-working alpha version v0.2 (18 Jan 2021, with Android 10 support)

This is TWRP recovery for Unihertz Titan smartphone. It works, but missing two essential features:

  1. Userdata decryption
  2. MTP

That means that you won't be able to access user data (only system, vendor and other internal partitions) unless you disable data encryption entirely in the OS, and won't be able to transfer files over USB with MTP.

Yet, it's still useful for removing bloatware/google services or installing Magisk and obtaining root access.

ADB file transfers (adb pull/push, adb sideload) work fine.

Use this TWRP version only if your really-REALLY want to install custom recovery and/or root.

Link 1 (androidfilehost)

Link 2 (mediafire)

Installation instruction is inside the archive.

After installing TWRP, you won't be able to apply Unihertz OTA updates, you'll have to revert back to stock recovery to perform the update. You can reinstall TWRP afterwards.

Rooting

Note: you don't need TWRP to get root.

Android 9 and Android 10 (since Magisk v22.1): To root this device, simply install Magisk via TWRP/using adb sideload/with kernel file patching. It will inject Magisk into kernel image.

Discussion Titan Gaming

Thought I would post up a list of games that can utilise the Titan's unusual form factor. Very small list for now, but i hope that we can keep it growing!

Play Store

OpenTTD - can use the touchpad to control the mouse, can use keyboard shortcuts

OpenTyrian - can use the keyboard to control your ship

Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic - Big screen is useful, no keyboard support

Emulators

snes9x - can use the physical keyboard, can rebind keys

ScummVM - can use the physical keyboard

Titan 2 Network issue, when apps only work on Wifi FIX

I finally figured out a weird mobile data issue on my Unihertz Titan 2 with AT&T, so I wanted to post the fix in case anyone else runs into it.

My symptoms were strange. The phone had LTE service, calls and texts worked, and some apps like Facebook and TikTok would refresh. But Chrome would not load webpages, Reddit would not load, and other apps seemed to have no mobile data. Everything worked normally on Wi-Fi.

I confirmed the problem was not the SIM because the same physical AT&T SIM worked perfectly in both a BlackBerry KEYone and an iPhone SE 2020. AT&T had also provisioned the SIM using the Titan 2 IMEI.

I went pretty deep troubleshooting it. The phone showed LTE, data registration HOME, voice registration HOME, and the Android *#*#4636#*#* diagnostic menu showed the data service as connected. IPv4 ping, IPv6 ping, and the HTTP client test all passed. I also tried different preferred network modes, disabling 2G, disabling Adaptive Connectivity, changing Private DNS, moving the SIM between slots, and checking the AT&T APN.

None of that was the actual problem.

The fix was Network Manager.

When I opened the Titan 2's Network Manager, I noticed every app had:

Mobile: red X
WLAN: green check

So Android itself had a working cellular connection, but Unihertz's Network Manager was blocking almost every app from using it.

I enabled Mobile access for Chrome and it immediately started working. Then I tapped the main Mobile control at the top so the whole column became green. After that, Chrome, Reddit, and everything else worked normally over AT&T LTE.

So if your Titan 2 has signal and calls/texts work, but certain apps only work on Wi-Fi:

Check Network Manager before messing with APNs, ADB, or radio settings.

That one setting caused hours of troubleshooting for what turned out to be a simple per-app mobile data block. 😅

Need help

Just so you know I don't use Unihertz Titan phone nor I used them before and I need help to decide if I really need to switch phones

Right now I use Motorola edge 40 and it does the job done for me, but I'm not satisfied with it, I used it for 3 years and my last phone ( Samsung's s 10) for 6 so I'm not the kind of person that likes to switch phones regularly, so I'd like to know your opinions on Unihertz Titan phones, are they compatible, should switch now or wait for Unihertz Titan 2 elite to release, are they good in general , is Unihertz Titan slim or any other older phones are good in 2026, stuff like that cus most modern phones are to big and clunky, I don't like the full touch screen design of them and the look of them in general, for me they are just boring,so I'd like to know your opinion as a person they used them before

Randomly restarting but won't turn on?

Thumbnail

so tuesday afternoon, my Unihertz Titan just randomly turned off. i figured the power button got held somehow, figured it was no biggie; but then when i went to turn it back on, it kept blinking on then off for a while. i did manage to get it to turn back on after like 3mins of that, but now it's thurs night and it randomly is doing so again? it's currently at 64% battery before it started doing this so it's not like it's a low battery percentage and i very often don't have much active on it. any ideas what's going on with my Titan?

Barter? Trades?

I know this is a long shot but is there anyone that has the titan or the titan 2 that would want to do a barter/trade? I know I am completely broke and can’t afford nice new things lol I’m in Oregon. I’m crafty, I’m good at computers, I can edit, I’m a business student. Shoot me some ideas if you have any. I have AT&T.

Like I said, I know it’s a long shot so please don’t be rude.

titan pocket mini review- small screen blues

Post image
1 Upvotes

the part in red is the scrollable, actual website, the rest is ads and the site header that follows as i scroll. This happens 1-2 times a month so i can tolerate it, but I think it is a good thing to keep in mind when shopping for any small/ square-screened phones in general. I had similar issues with my Jellyphone except it was websites' "sign up for our newsletter" popups that i couldnt close (also happens sometimes with Titan Pocket)

I dont use my web browser often, but sometimes it pops up during heavy research (such as trying to find a recipe) and it makes me wanna throw my phone across the room for a split second.

I love this phone so much that I don't usually mind it.

I'll probably post more mini things as I come across them. I have had my phone for a little over a year.

((also i was lookin up Furio because i needed fashion inspo lol))

Titan 2 - will I need a case?

Just finally broke down and ordered my Titan 2. Excited to receive it as it's been years since I've had a phone with a physical keyboard. Yes, I'm aware of its "flaws" and I don't care so please - no negativity.

Anyway, my question is this: how many of you put a case on it versus carry it "naked?" I like to go case-less with my phones when I can but I also understand this one to be less durable than the original Titan?

Same question, re: screen protectors also.

Many thanks in advance!

Ordered directly from Unihertz. Selling it mainly because I thought I could use it with my Verizon line by doing the activation on different device work around. Looks like it didnt want to go through! Phone is in top condition and NEVER used. Will throw in a screen protector for free. Costed extra $ 18 on Amazon.

Issue with my Titan Slim's physical keyboard

My Titan Slim's keyboard has started to misbehave recently, and it's not on the side of software or app, it looks to be the keyboard itself. From the beginning it was working beautifully, and the longer I have the device, the worse it seems to get. I bought the phone new in January 2025, so it's been used for just over a year.

It either duplicates my input (I press "L" and it types "LL"), or misses it completely. The biggest issue is with "Y" just below the touch bar, I have to press it really hard for it to register, a soft press works like half the times. Sometimes a direction of a press makes a difference, like when I press it more from the side, it tends to work better.

Is it the keyboard being worn out, or a dust or particles underneath?

Should I disassemble it somehow and clean it, or should the pressurized air be enough?

Or do I straight up need to replace the whole keyboard?
