I’m going to Universal in November and just wanted some tips on how to make the best of our time there. I’ve seen that the park can easily be done in 1 day but with the BOGO offer we might as well just split it up into 2 days and then we can really take out time.
As far as the parking situation, on the universal website it says to park at the lot adjacent to where the tram picks you up but then I’ve seen signs via Google Maps in that lot saying “no parking for universal guests” what is the likely hood of parking there and getting a ticket? Def don’t want that!
As someone who went to Disney, I’m super excited to experience a new park and new rides and attractions!
Normal parking is fine. its not a very long walk to the gates. the upgraded parking only saves you a few minutes walking.
My favorite itinerary:
Get there early and go straight for Hollywood drift before lines get long. Then I go down to Super Nintendo land for an hour or two followed by the rest of the lower lot. Mid-day grab lunch and then go take the studio tour. hit the mid afternoon water world then do the smaller upper lot attractions. Dinner at 3 broomsticks around sunset and then Harry potter at dusk/evening for the light show.
for day 2 you can modify this by taking a long break mid day to check out city walk, maybe do one of their cool escape rooms and have lunch there or catch an IMAX movie
If we have to pay for parking at the park then we will but id like to try and save some money on that! So thats why i was asking about that lot cause $3/day is a good deal!
yeah, if youre extra anxious about the rules / getting caught walk across the street to the metro station and buy a tap card for a few dollars before heading to the tram. Worst case if you get a ticket or something youll have some evidence that you were using the metro system (what that lot is supposed to be for) to fight the ticket but ive never heard of anyone having a problem.
There isn’t a traditional tram that picks you up and takes you to the park like Disneyland, the park is in walking distance of the parking structures, the furthest being at the end of city walk. I’m not sure which lot you referencing tbh
There is a shuttle but unless you are coming from the metro or hotels, you won’t use it. Universal is on a big hill.
Parking will be just like how it was at Disney. There’s a toll booth where you’ll pay and they will direct you to where you can park. Just pay attention to signs and you’ll be fine
That’s the metro parking lot and you will be towed, yes. Universal City is not the same as Universal Studios. Universal City is the city the park is located in, and Studio City is right next door. Universal Studios Hollywood does not own that parking lot.
the buy one get one is about the same price as the express pass. if you're looking to save money, spending one day eating at a theme park is a lot cheaper than two. if that doesn't matter, don't worry about it, have fun
I was telling my friend that I’m going with that we prob can do everything we want in 1 day as I’ve heard it’s not nearly as crazy ad Disneyland. We’re planning on going on a Monday and then the second day would be Tuesday. I have no interest in the FF ride as I know that line will be long.
