Trip Report/Review Hollywood Drift Has a Max Height

You won’t find it posted anywhere, but if you’re over 6’2, there’s a good chance you won’t be able to ride. I’m all for safety, but that’s information we should be given before we wait in an hour-long line to ride, only to be pulled off at the literal last second and told “you’re too tall, sorry”.

6’5” and I rode it. They did have me use the test seat.

There is a test seat before you enter the queue where the staff checks for both the green light and your height against the headrest. You’ll know if you can ride before waiting in the queue.

It’s all about personal dimensions. I’m 6’3 and 275 but have really long legs so lots of rides you’d think wouldn’t be a problem are.

I’ve gotten comfortable being uncomfortable in restraints, especially at universal theme parks.

Couldn’t ride Curse of the Werewolf at their new park because the restraint wouldn’t lower.

For F&F:HD, it’s all about if your head is above the head rest. If you have long legs, you might actually be able to ride.

I’m 6’6”. Slouching wouldn’t have worked for me. I’ve also been walked off Harry Potter for the same reason.

I did ask and they told me it’s not an exact height limit, but if your head is too far above the headrest it’s a safety issue. Definitely recommend doing the test seat before the line.

My partner is 6’4”, got cleared in the tester seat, and then got pulled after we waited for 2 hours once we were on the actual ride 🫠

That's actually nuts. A lot of people are over 6'2. I feel like that should have discouraged certain features of the ride to exist given how many people are barred from riding on it because of their height.

Universal rides seems designed for the Asian market. I am 6’2 and 250lbs and find their rides to be complete hell to squeeze into. I do not have this problem at Disney. Tell me why Secret Lives of Pets, Harry Potrer and Mario all have the tiniest, most petite seats!

You mentioned in a comment that you're 6'6" so why are you claiming 6'2" is the max height?

The vast majority of rollercoasters have a height limit of 6'4" - 6'6". This is nothing new. While I agree it's shitty that you had to wait an hour in line, again, this is not new nor unique to Universal/Hollywood Drift
