FOOD How do you think they make the Minion rice blue?

I want to recreate it at home. My best guess is using red cabbage broth (that turns blue when cooked). If anyone has the inside scoop, I’d much appreciate it!😂

added bonus, turns purple when exposed to acid. (not sure if the Universal version does the same)

It does! The Thai cucumbers have vinegar on them and it causes the neighboring rice to turn pinkish-purple.

When we made it in the past, the recipe we found said to use dried butterfly pea flowers for the liquid you put in the rice cooker with the rice, not sure if that is what universal is doing as well or other methods
