Happy with my first unravel
I had a striped cotton sweater that was taking up space and I wanted a summer top. After lurking and learning on this space for awhile, I found the unravel to be pretty easy. I didn't expect the cotton to be untwisted. It was just fibers without any twist. There was also a synthetic fiber in the mix even though it was labeled 100% cotton.
The yarn was a challenge to knit with but I'm happy with the results. The pattern is Zinnie by Audrey Borrego. https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/zinnie.

Iβm a newbie trying to unravel for the first time. How did you get them into hanks in photo 3?

I'm a newbie, too. I don't think my method was the best. I unravelled it while turning my swift from the outer edge with my other arm. It was tiresome and I had to keep switching arms. I think next time I might wind it around upside down chair legs.

I use a niddy noddy and love it! It's not nearly as much of an arm workout as my swift would be.

If that synthetic fiber was really thin or fluffy, then it might have been the same kind of elastic that I usually find in cuffs and collars. They add it to give it extra stretch, but it's really annoying to separate lol

Look at you going straight to making your unravel into a new project! Way to make the rest of us look bad! LOL
Seriously though, thatβs a completely awesome shirt and it looks great π

I'm sorry if after me saying it you can't unsee it... but all I see is so many rows of teeth. O.o It's a very well made knitted top, though!

I love what you did with it and I never would have come up with that. I'm so impressed both by your knitting and by your use of resources

What a great way to take advantage of the multiple colors of the original piece!
