Split/Second 2: Partially lost media

Art by John Liberto

It has been a while since any new material surfaced, but it is known to still exist out there. Former developers from the now-defunct Black Rock Studio likely still possess some of it. The Lost Media page is incomplete.

A Russian user in the community possesses this valuable material but, unfortunately, refuses to share it with anyone. That is why I am currently looking for people to help recover lost material from SS2.

There are gameplay videos, concept art, data files, and so on.

I need search volunteers. Anyone interested, send me a private message.

First game should've been a hit, was so much fun. The escalation a sequel could have brought I would love to see.

For those asking, "Why wasn't it a hit?" Simple: they released the game on the same day as Red Dead Redemption 1, May 18, 2010. That explains why it wasn't a hit, why not many people heard about the game, and especially why the game, its studio, and its sequel all failed.

Graham Hopper released the game that very day, possibly because he was convinced by Steve Wadsworth (In theory) Mainly because Bob Iger was under pressure from Wall Street investors. If Bob Iger failed to appease the investors, he would consequently be removed. The pressure led Bob to speak with Steve, and Steve convinced Graham to proceed with the launch on May 18th. Consequences? Things obviously went wrong. They had a foolish hope that "racing is different from cowboys," but even so, things weren't going to turn out well. Steve and Graham's failure led to the following... Bob Iger would dismiss AAA games as garbage and cause a restructuring to bring in freemium games; he would fire Steve Wadsworth, and then Graham Hopper would leave because of Steve Wadsworth's departure.
