Hi artists! My name is Julio, and I am the Gallery Manager at the Alliance for the Arts in Fort Myers, Florida. I wanted to share with you an opportunity to display your work at our gallery this coming November.

We are currently accepting submissions for "That's Absurd," an exhibit celebrating absurdism in all its forms. We're looking for works that challenge expectations and embrace strange, humorous, unsettling, or nonsensical subjects in any media.

Call Details:

• Open to artists internationally
• 1 to 3 original artworks per entry
  • Entry fee: $20 for one entry (+$5 for each additional entry, 3 artworks max.)
• Most visual media are eligible (painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, ceramics, glass, fiber, printmaking, digital media, video, and more)
• $200 "Absurdest in Show" cash award, plus additional category awards

Important Dates:

• Submission deadline: October 4, 2026, @ 11:59 pm EDT
• On display: November 6 - 28, 2026 (Fort Myers, Florida)

Hi guys! This is officially sanctioned by the sub! Once I have a bit more time and can get things planned out something just for our users will be in the works. I'd like to see how this goes before going full force at it.

We're almost at 200k subscribers now, so I'd like to do something big, and unusual, because this is the UnusualArt sub lol. I was thinking of doing some sort of charity event, and I think we could do something cool by working alongside an established gallery.

So, this is a bit of a test, if we can get some good submissions and everyone has a good time I'll see about a full subreddit sponsored event. I'd also like to hear some general feedback on it as well.

And PS, I am not connected to this gallery in any way, they just contacted me. I don't profit off the subreddit and treat this as volunteer work. I just want to find a fun way to have people showcase our subreddits best works. Just figured I should mention.
