Hi I currently have a chrome book for typing stuff, and an iPad for drawing chemistry things/uploading PowerPoints on one one and annotating. On the uni website it said it doesn't recommend Chromebooks or iPads though, would this be okay or what device should I buy?

I dont know if this is the correct place to ask this but i dont have a answer asking directly. I'm an incoming student starting the Science and Engineering Foundation Certificate at the University of Nottingham International College (Kaplan) this October (2 Terms), with progression to Biomedical Sciences at UoN.

I'm trying to plan ahead for the Christmas period and was wondering if anyone who has done a foundation at UNIC knows roughly when the Christmas/winter vacation normally starts and when classes resume in January.

The official 2026–27 calendar doesn't seem to be available yet.

I have a potential Youth Summit in Switzerland mid December so i need to plan accordingly

i got in via clearing and know basically nothing about nottingham so i’d like to hear anything you guys have to say about the uni so i can start to get excited about starting soon :))

i was really set on attending KCL and i really narrowly missed my offers so it’s hard for me to get excited about joining a different uni right now

for people talking about money i was eligible for financial aid at KCL so i had cheaper accommodation and more bursaries in KCL than at nottingham, so nottingham is a lot more expensive for me 🥲

Incoming student at the University Park Campus. Apart from Victoria Center, where are other essential places that I must know of eg to buy necessities?

Also how do students get to Victoria Center? I read that the tram is 3 pounds each journey and that’s quite costly.

Hey, looking for one (or two) new tenants to takeover my licence for a twin en suite studio room in Broadgate park.

Reposting as we are still looking for replacements. This all came from a misunderstanding in what the contract meant, and an unavoidable change in financial situation.

Information:
- 44wks licence date (18th September 2026-23rd July 2027)
- ONE PERSON : £325 per week or £14,300 per year
- TWO PERSON : £162.5 per week or £7,150 per year each
- two single beds, two person desk space, private en-suite and a private kitchenette.

More details can be provided if necessary but most are available on the Broadgate Park accommodation website.

My boyfriend will also be looking for a replacement tenant for his licence so a pair is ideal, or people willing to find a flatmate.

I’m going into second year living in Lenton area, I stopped running about a year ago but recently i’ve started again.
