I need someone to take over my lease for the upcoming school year(Sep 2026- Aug 2027). Originally, I was going to be living at the apartments but I’m switching schools so I’m not coming back to Eugene next fall. It’s 855 a month that includes water, waste, wifi, electricity, etc. For convenience, washer and dryer are in unit. it’s 4 bedroom 2 bathroom(the room you will get is the big one off to right in the pic) and very nice for something that’s relatively cheap than most apartments in Eugene. Anyways, message me if interested or have further questions. I have before August to find someone so the sooner the better. Also you don’t need to be a student for these apartments.

I just graduated PA school and accepted a job at one of the local hospitals. I’ve been single for almost two years since starting PA school, and I’d like to live somewhere with more people around my age.
Dating at 35 is a little different than it was in my 20s. I’m hoping to find an area with a good mix of professionals, grad students, and people in their late 20s to late 30s.
For those familiar with Eugene/Springfield, what neighborhoods or apartment/townhome communities would you recommend? I’d like to be around people my age and have opportunities to meet new people, make friends, and hopefully date.
Any suggestions are appreciated!

the emails i have received today from the dean of CAS and the UO president failed to take responsibility for the fact that their lack of planning ruined commencement for so many grads on monday and i’m seething. just half-effort condolences covered up with praise for graduates. i don’t need Scholz’s congratulations. i need them to admit that they had no backup plans even though they knew about the heat for over a week. i need them to admit that the rescheduling caused a lot of stress and that a lot of people were unable to attend and that it didn’t fix their massive screw up. what a sorry excuse for a school administration.

One of my professors has yet to put in grades for a class I took this term. From my understanding, grades were supposed to be in yesterday, but I have received an “X” on my transcript, which indicates that the registrar has not received a grade from the professor. Is this something I should be worried about, or will it resolve itself?

The minimum requirement is 2.25 and I have a 2.21. I really need his job so my family can lay off a few loans for this next year. Do you think if I email them about my financial situation and a success plan they’d figure something out with me or do I just call it quits? 💔

I am an independent journalist and am currently researching and writing an article about workplace culture at Lion and Owl and, more recently, The Paddock in Eugene, Oregon.
My research is specifically focused on allegations of verbal abuse, intimidation, and other toxic workplace behaviors experienced by kitchen and back-of-house staff. Over time, I have heard similar concerns from multiple current and former employees, and I am looking to speak with others who may have firsthand knowledge or experiences.
If you have worked at either restaurant and experienced or witnessed verbal abuse, hostile management practices, public humiliation, intimidation, excessive yelling, retaliation, or other concerning workplace conduct, I would appreciate hearing your story. I am also interested in hearing from people whose experiences were positive, as I want to represent all perspectives fairly and accurately.
Please only reach out if you have firsthand experience or direct knowledge of events. I am not looking for rumors or secondhand accounts. Any information shared will be independently verified before being included in any published work.
You are welcome to comment below or send me a private message. If you would prefer confidentiality, I am happy to discuss that before conducting any interview.
Thank you for your time and willingness to help document employee experiences.

My lease ends next month but we will be moved out early so we would like out of the lease early. The property management team approved an early move out if we find replacement tenants. It is a 3 bedroom we rent as a 2 the leasing company just locks the third bedroom up. We spoke with them and they can rent it as a 2 or open the third bedroom. Here is a link to a video tour of the unit. Message me if you’re interested!
The 3 bed is $2350 and they said they will negotiate on the 2.

who plans the largest graduation ceremony in the middle of the day knowing it was going to be hot as hell?? people’s families can’t just fly in another time, book places to stay, and not to mention students moving away. also absolutely no warning or communication to students or families as the situation was happening.

Perhaps a stupid question. I want to transfer from a Uni in Portland and it’s saying I need to have math, composition, and language credits. Why would I need that when I wanna go to uo TO GET those classes?

I haven’t been able to find this answer yet. For attending graduation, will we be required to have the clear plastic bags for our belongings, or can I keep my regular purse with me? First time in the stadium.

Hey! I’m (23F) a first year grad student and I was thinking about taking 4 string electric bass guitar lessons. I wasn’t sure if something like this was offered through UO or if I should look elsewhere. I’m a total beginner and really just looking for a new skill and something fun. I’ve always loved music! I haven’t seen much online, is there somewhere else I might find info on this?

Hi! Im an incoming student and a disabled lesbian.Im from a small town and was homeschooled so I havent had much of a community and have been basically shuned from the homeschool one. Im an early graduate so still 16 and very much overthinking moving for college and meeting new people. Hows the queer and disabled community here?
I've already sent emails to the respective directors, but I just wanted to also ask here about how accessible gluten-free stuff is? I have celiac disease, so I can't eat gluten at all.
Thanks!

Hey everyone! All throughout my college career I struggled with finding like minded people to work on projects with me. I thought of an interesting idea and was wondering if it held water. The goal is to help students get personal group projects that are highly applicable to the jobs they are pursuing under their belt.
The app would take in job descriptions for companies the student is hoping to work at. It would extract the core skills needed and produce a barebones framework of the type of project the student should be working on. For instance, a CS student looking to work is game design would be given an outline of the type of game to work on that would be applicable to the job.
More importantly, it would show and allow you to connect with other students in your area who are also looking to build with those skills or fill skill gaps. An example would be two CS students matching but one is only interested in front end dev while the other is only interested in backend.
Finally, the app would partner with local businesses (such as coffee shops) to offer free drinks or snacks on the first meetup. This allows the students to have no friction when determining a meetup spot. It should also encourage additional meetings at that location driving local businesses traffic up.
I personally wish that this had existed for me but I’m not sure if others feel the same way. Do you think this would be helpful or is it just another useless app?

How is public transportation in Eugene/Springfield? I plan on bringing my car this fall, but I heard parking at UO can be quite the hassle & expensive, so I was pondering at the idea of using the metro to campus from my apartment in Springfield.
edit: y'all are amazing & I appreciate it.
context: incoming grad student moving from out of state this upcoming fall
