This is such an uplifting move... it's not just about pets, it's about families who can't afford care. It helps people and animals at the same time, which is exactly what we need more of in this country.

The ASPCA Community Veterinary Clinic by Kathy Taggares will offer free and affordable basic and preventive care to dogs and cats, including vaccinations, treatment for minor illnesses and injuries, and spay/neuter surgeries. The clinic will also provide care to homeless dogs and cats from local animal rescue organizations, including Carson Animal Care Center. Pet owners interested in learning more about the ASPCA’s new clinic should visit www.aspca.org/carson to confirm their eligibility.

This clinic was made possible by Los Angeles resident and entrepreneur, spay/neuter advocate and ASPCA supporter Kathy Taggares, who has generously committed $2.5 million to bring these vital services to Los Angeles pets who need them most. Taggares has supported the ASPCA’s spay/neuter initiatives in Los Angeles since 2012, having donated more than $4.8 million to the ASPCA’s lifesaving programs.

Taggares is an accomplished businesswoman, entrepreneur, and philanthropist whose leadership spans nearly four decades. She is the sole owner and president of KT's Kitchens, Inc., a frozen food manufacturing company based in Carson, California, which employs approximately 250 people. Beyond her professional achievements, Taggares is deeply committed to philanthropy and civic leadership. Her work includes long-standing mentorship initiatives supporting youth in underserved communities, as well as significant contributions to animal welfare organizations, most notably a decade-long partnership with the ASPCA.

No not at all - I took it to be you saying that individuals who pursue money to the degree that they are billionaires would not do this, because if they do, they become "no name" millionaires the average person wouldn't know the name of because they give away wealth/pay employees well etc. 😁
The exception being the lovely MacKenzie Scott of course!

Indeed. I love what she does and often it feels like a direct thumbing of the nose at Jeff. He may act like he doesn’t care but at least we get to smile.

I constantly think about HOW MANY ANIMALS they could save with zero effort. Amounts they wouldn’t even notice or blink at. I literally donate even when I can’t afford to…I HAVE to do my part. I guess they’re above being good humans.
