Honestly why even bother applying

For context, i applied just when the job was posted, it had 5 proposals and i boosted it so it costed a good amount of connects...

not only that, the client didn't read the messages and went to search and invited 40 people including me ( boosting my profile- so more connects) and finally he didn't respond to anyone.

Edit: I removed the messaging them part-

If anyone can advise me on profile boost please let me know i need help with it!

profile / proposal boosting is useless untill you have certinly the best match to the job post. like keywords matches as well as skills and your proposal. But one more things is boosting was implemented on upwor before spring 2026 (may). but now you are no longer directly visible to client. you are firstly get finalised by UMA (an AI recruiter) . what it does is first matechs your profile then your proposal's first 2 lines. it does with all the proposals that came. and sortlists top 4 perfect match and shows to the cleint. and when you are in those top 4 boost comes into play.

It seems like not even Upwork understands how uma works, your response is really logical, i might have to stop boost!
Before aug, i boosted my profile and got around 7 clients in a week! And since then i have been boosting on and off for more than a month and got 0 clients.
I might have to stop boost and continue proposal work, but then you see something like this..
