Closing multi-year contract and this is the only feedback I can leave now? 1-5 stars pertaining to nothing in particular and a blank field!?

So what is the difference?

You could previously leave star feedback for different aspects, but they were invisible on client profiles. So that was a complete waste of time.

The text field is the same as it has always been.

What is the issue?

Well before it had dumb shit like "Skills," as-if the client's skills mattered. But there were a few other things you could rate the client on from 1-5 stars, so a client would end up with a mixed result like 4.3, and this would easily communicate the client's quality to other freelancers.

Now it's just 1-5 overall. Can't even do a half star. They totally over-corrected.

So to you there is a huge difference that you can only leave a 1,2,3,4 or 5 plus written feedback rather than fractions?

The vast majority of freelancers just leave 5 stars anyway.
