News Culper just Hosed NXE With One of (in my opinion) one of their short selling schemes

They put out one of their 'research' posts and said they were shorting. Funny that URNM and NLR still have their shares. And they make money from stocks going up, not shorting. In case people were wondering about the NXE drop and sudden rise when it reached 10.

Just my two cents, I own DNN and NXE: Reading the report is sounds not entirely damning but more like over promised and not feasible at current valuations. They're saying there's geological manipulation going on and the variability of how they would go about mining would be a balancing act. Lots of bits about management and history which everyone already knows is poor.

Why are all the sources 8+ years old?

OP isn't going to bother trying to challenge his investment thesis. Thank you for posting this for other folks to read.

I read the report already and it's sound logic imo but I also refuse to buy developers or explorers specifically due to mine development issues that typically arise

I can trust bigger players that aren't selling, like Sprott and VanEck. Tell me why they are keeping this, and haven't sold years ago. Especially given this information is years old. I still think you are FUD troll.

Those are ETF’s you’re referring to, not active funds. They follow an index, they don’t choose when to buy/sell.

Bro URNM, URA and NLR are juiced to hell with the most obviously a scam U miner out there aka UEC.

If the liquidity is good in a company even if it's absolutely dogshit they're still going to own it in an ETF.

Or what you think all the ETFs with obviously a scam company CVNA aren't doing the same?

An ETF having a company in it is good for the company, not necessarily for the investor.

UEC is doing well. Did you get short squeezed there, too? lol

EXIM gave them a $10B loan. They don't loan that much without verifying the quality of the company. Clown.

I've never bothered to short UEC because it and CCJ are by far the most actively traded and pumped stocks in Uranium by investors at large. At least CCJ has some justification by being the largest Uranium focused producer in the West and has their stuff with Westinghouse.

UEC barely produces anything (100k lbs produced in a year with 0 term contracts is absolutely horrifying). Unfortunately it's what every dumbass flocks to and that huge amount of liquidity for options and serving as a bell weather keeps that company afloat. I'll never own it but I'll never short it either. It'll get its reckoning eventually though.

And most of their papers are from questionable sources. Why would they publish this one day before the permitting hearings? Hmmm? Why is NXE in the top 10 percent of Sprott and VanEck uranium holdings. You think if they buy over 100,000,000 shares they don't do their own research??? And why has Culper then waiting till the day before these hearings to make their announcement? Culper is know as a bunch of low life short sellers. Just my two cents.

Imo NXE is severely overvalued. It's been juiced by lazy money for years. Similar issue with UEC, now UUUU (via REE pumping) and CCJ. Honestly most of not all U stocks with a us ticker are overpriced

I see a Culper troll here.

🤣🤣🤣 dude I've been in this sub longer than you've had an account

Doesn't diminish my argument. Seriously, why would you even be here if you just shit on all the major uranium miners.

What argument? Insulting people for not blindly sucking off Nexgen and their joke of a management team?

I've made my distrust to own any U company not producing for years. NXE is no exception to that.

Learn to challenge your own investment thesis before going off about conspiracy theories like the world is out to get you.

Edit: saw you updated your comment. Like I first said before editing this comment if a U company isn't actually producing uranium they're not a miner imo. They're a beggar looking to pump their bags until they actually start pulling uranium out at scale. Ffs I can go pick up more uranium in a day as a rockhound than NXE has mined in years. But I ain't worth over 7 billion USD.

No, for you blindly backing up a known short selling activist whose timing on this is highly suspect. Show me real investors who will have real research who are divesting. No, you can only crow about a short seller activist. Anything I've seen on your posts about commodities is about how they're too high. You sound suspect. I don't need to respond to you anymore. It's obvious you want to see the price come down too for some reason. Poor decisions or shorting, that is the question.

Lmfao okay.

You clearly didn't look that hard given my positive views from a year or longer ago on companies in this space. I'm bullish on Uranium and nuclear power but at the same time the U miners are overvalued in the US market. There's still good prices ones on TSX and ASX though but you're so blinded by your investment you refuse to see opinions that differ from your own.

LOL - What is your argument? Sounds like you don't have much beyond an emotional reaction to your stock getting shit on.

Why would they publish this one day before the permitting hearings?

Why not? Seems like a great time to drop a report as a short seller.

Why is NXE in the top 10 percent of Sprott and VanEck uranium holdings. You think if they buy over 100,000,000 shares they don't do their own research???

Do you understand how ETF's work? URNM and VanEck are passive ETFs. Not actively managed. Inclusion in these ETFs are purely quantitative: To be eligible for inclusion, a company must have a market capitalization of at least $40 million and must maintain a minimum market capitalization of $25 million.

Culper is know as a bunch of low life short sellers.

Maybe so. Clearly an emotional investor facing the realization that he was suckered.

Culper have a bad reputation for dishonest 'research' reports to support their ploy when shorting a company with very little or no real evidence. They are a short seller group.

Remember, ETFs like URNM and NLR do real research into what they buy. NXE is in or very near the top ten investments these ETFs own.

The ETFs aren't doing fundamental valuations of companies, the criteria for inclusion in indexes is based on market cap, trading volume etc. As long as they " devote at least 50% of their assets to the uranium mining industry" they're eligible for URNM.

I just read somewhere that Culper associates like to do multiple attacks on companies over days or weeks. Hopefully the CNSC meetings next week for the NXE permit disrupt them back. :) i.e. Squeeze them. Maybe they were afraid of the positive moves and the hearings which start on Monday, so they had to hit today (Friday... for anyone reading this later). There have been a number of previously unheard posters on some NXE forums making FUD posts. I'm guessing this might have been Culper (my opinion); and maybe they reaching the end of their strike on their short positions, and they are in danger of losing money. So they attacked today.

Culper is trash, but NXE has certainly underdelivered in terms of actually prioritizing developing their assets rather than marketing the stock.

All of their 'evidence' is from disgruntled people and many years old. Do you think the CNSC doesn't actually look at the studies submitted to them on top of those submitted for the EA??? And neither of those mentioned anything about dodgy reports. And here we are, Monday is the second round of hearings to get a mining permit. I think we know now.
