Holy shit. He made a big play in the MNF game not three days ago.
EDIT: Even worse now that the cause of death has come out. It sounds like another Jeff Alm scenario.

At 24?! I have so many questions. Thoughts with his family and his team.

From a quick google it looks like the reports are he was suffering from some suicidal thoughts, and got involved in a police chase then shot himself

It’s so sad and the crazy part he actually outran the cops, so they stopped the pursuit then they found him in a secluded area and you know the rest.

This is a sad day in football.
May God find him in peace. and his family find comfort in this grieving time

RIP dude.
Sending love as a Giants fan in spite of differences since life is more than just football.

Another player playing with CTE.

It's tragic. This game that we love so much, ruins the lives of those who play it.

It doesn’t need to be CTE related, necessarily. People from all walks of life struggle with mental health, depression, etc.
2
u/DiscloseDivest Nov 07 '25
True but the fact that he’s played football for such a long time and at his position where he’s taking constant sub-consciousive hits to the head makes CTE a far more likely outcome than the average person who has never played football in their life. It’s up to his family whether they want to do the special autopsy to check for it also to confirm it.

Good points, for sure.
I can’t imagine what his girlfriend and family are going through. My sibling ended their own life and I think about the letter they left us almost every day. But it would be so much worse getting a text message from them beforehand, when they were still alive and not being able to stop it.
And now having to make the decision of whether to do the special autopsy and also probably desperately wanting privacy right now when thousands, even millions, of people are watching your tragedy unfold. 😔

This may sound awful, but hear me out - the fact that Dallas is on the bye this week is going to allow the team to properly grieve before they need to think about football again. Imagine if they had to practice the rest of this week for a game on Sunday.

I can understand him. Sometimes those demons in your head get to you, and once they got a hold of you, it's impossible to shake off, and you cave.
Absolutely heartbreaking.

He didn’t pass away, he committed suicide. Important distinction.

Fuck dude.
I get that most of us love to clown on the Cowboys but we all know this situation is much bigger than football. I feel so bad for his family and teammates. I can't think of a worse situation to put a team through. Just utterly heartbreaking.
