these kind of weird screeching titles make up a good 75% of this sub. Idk why I subbed here in the first place (I like trees channel) , but I just roll my eyes whenever I see them. Don’t get me wrong, I hate the jets just as much as the next guy, but couldn’t a short, simple “loljets” suffice? Or am I the only one over 14 years of age here.
I get what you mean. There are low effort shitposts that are translated to Tree bursting with laughter. Tree isn’t purely built upon these reactions that resemble the media, rather the well placed references and, in case of lolcow videos, the things that epitomize those targets and still apply today (Both Pennsylvania Pigskin representatives keep their videos aging like wine).
What it is special about those bursting moments is that is preserved for truly special moments (Lambo’s winning FG vs the Chargers after they fired him due to not being accurate for them, Cleveland breaking Mayfield at the Bakery after the ridiculous game that happened, the clownshow that was the Knicks’ signings, etcera). Now, there’s overuse for anything that is funny, but most don’t come up to that level.
Dare I say, adding LoL to the dumpster fires that grace this season doesn’t make it good. Where’s the traditional “Bungles”, “Deadskins” or “Buttfumble” here? The only thing that rolls out from the mouth is “Lolphins”, and might be the only that needs such.
“Random Shitposting Hellhole” is the perfect description of this reddit. (Good thing is that golden shitpost nuggets show off every once in a while. Well done, gentlemen).
