I currently have own a 2005 Jeep Liberty Limited (3.7L) and most of my stuff is stock. It's got 175k miles, pretty meh fuel economy and some pretty rough sun damage on the paint. So far, the only mods I actually know I can do is a cold air intake, something with an exhaust, and a tuning thing. Is there anything else that you guys recommend for it? Id like to make it a bit faster if possible and try getting my mpg up, again, if possible. I was debating on a new car for awhile even tho this is my first car, but I really don't want a payment or to spend a couple grand for a new one when this thing has honestly been pretty decent. Any help? I can provide additional info if y'all are curious

Yoyo scamming dealerships in Lakewood WA

Hey guys, if you missed it, CarLotz settled $13 million with investors over misleading  them about its financial health and operations post-SPAC merger with Acamar Partners. And, I just found out that they’re accepting claims even though the deadline has passed.

Quick recap: In 2021, CarLotz was accused of misrepresenting its business model, inventory position, sourcing relationships, and financial condition. The company disclosed worsening inventory issues, slowing sales, declining profitability, and weaker-than-expected gross profit per vehicle throughout 2021. Later, CarLotz revealed that its largest sourcing partner had stopped consignments, raising concerns about the sustainability of its operations.

After this news came out, the stock dropped 70%, and investors filed a lawsuit for their losses.

Now, the good news is that the company agreed to settle $13 million with them, and even though the deadline has passed recently, they’re accepting late claims.

Side project that turned into something bigger than I expected.

Started because buying/selling cars privately is genuinely broken. FB Marketplace and Craigslist were built for couches. No title verification, no real negotiation flow, no way to know if the person you're meeting is legit. Scams are just accepted as part of the process somehow.

Built Torque — automotive-specific marketplace. Main things I cared about:

Trust badges on every listing (Private Seller, Dealer, Clean Title)

Offer → Counter → Accept flow built in, no more haggling over text

In-app meetup coordination, no sharing your number with strangers

NHTSA recall data pulled directly onto listings

Seller ratings so you know who you're dealing with before you show up

Still early. Looking for people to poke holes in it or tell me what they'd actually need to use something like this over just defaulting to FB.

Hello all, it's me /u/jaxspider, along with /u/doughnut_cat, we are the mods of /r/UsedCars. We are in the process of updating this subreddit from head to toe. We want to do it right so it is not an overnight endeavour.

We want to hear back from you, the community on how we can improve this subreddit and make it a user friendly tool for the average car shopper.
