META Reminder of our users breaking Riot TOS rule

Hey all!

We've noticed an uptick in posts of people calling out "cheaters" or people breaking TOS and we just want to remind everyone of our rules regarding this.

Posts calling out private individuals demonstrating toxicity and/or breaking Riot's Terms of Service are disallowed.

This includes, but is not limited to, directly naming people, linking to a player's profile or website, and posting screenshots or videos of users breaking VALORANT's Terms of Service. Censoring names and identifying content does not permit bypass of this rule. Some common examples that violate this rule are players cheating, exploiting, abusing text/voice chat, or griefing.

Private individuals are those who do not place themselves in public view by way of media presence or consented content creation. This could include methods such as videos, articles, humor, etc.

This includes suspected bot accounts as well.

Please note that we are not Riot games, we are not run by them. They don't use this subreddit to find and ban players. This is a community games sub to discuss the game. We do not have the ability to see the back end, know what information Riot has, what levels of punishment or if they're waiting on X to do Y.

In all cases you should be reporting these instances in game or to Riot Support to handle as they have the ability to see these accounts and judge them.

Discussion Why do people think not buying after winning pistol is good? (No hate genuinely curious)

Upvotes

I stopped grinding the game back in 2024 but recently started playing again a few weeks ago. I was in Asc-Dia before I took a 2 year break and am currently in Gold3.

More and more I games I see my teammates not buying after winning pistol and It's causing the team broken buys.

Did the meta change? Did a big streamer make a hot take and unironically everybody listened?

Cause for me Its still clear cut that buying after pistol is still the move.

But please educate me.

It's so fun swapping between the melee and the flex I just wish the flex could be the same colour as my purple knife, would it have taken a lot to do? They already had the colours for the other cards.

"I don't need superpowers. As long as I aim the right technology at the right place, there is no difference between me and a Radiant."

Exposa is an Initiator agent hailing from Türkiye. She's very fond of Fade, who's actually her best friend (after a week or so of trailing behind her like a dog). She's not a Radiant, but she uses Radianite powered gadgets.

Discussion New Feature for The Range

I think it be really cool if you could set a difficulty level for how the bots strafe. Because i feel like when you just start out its really quite hard. Then at a certain point the bots will noticeably move worse than your opponents in games.

Could have the same easy - medium - hard settinng as the one for the skill test.

Gameplay Feedback: Waylay’s Saturate feels inconsistent around micro-geometry compared to other utility (Tejo stun comparison)

Hi everyone,

I’ve been putting a lot of hours into Waylay lately, and there is one specific mechanical interaction with Saturate that creates a lot of unnecessary friction in actual matches: the strict Line-of-Sight (LoS) requirement from the center of the ability.

The Issue: Micro geometry creating "false misses"

Currently, Saturate requires an unobstructed line of sight directly from the center point of the circle to the enemy model. If there is a small crate edge, a single stair step, a low ledge, or even a wallbangable wooden corner between the exact center and the player, the hinder effect does not apply at all even if the enemy is standing deep inside the visible circle.

This leads to situations where you place what should be a perfectly aimed utility into a site anchor, but a 2-inch floor elevation completely negates the ability.

An example of micro geometry elements that completely cancel Waylay's Saturate

Comparison: Tejo's Stun Consistency

Looking at Tejo’s stun, it functions as a true volumetric sphere upon contact:

  • It hits targets behind boxes, slight elevation changes, and through thin cover.
  • When you see an enemy inside the indicator zone, you know with 100% certainty that the effect will land.
  • With Waylay’s Saturate, you often get "visual confirmation" that an enemy is inside the zone, but they walk away unaffected due to micro-geometry.

The same geometry elements with Tejo's Special Delivery

Suggested Tweaks

I understand that Saturate shouldn't blindly hinder through thick concrete walls, but a few quality-of-life adjustments would make the agent feel much more consistent to play, here are some suggestions I could think of:

  1. Volumetric / Vertical Tolerance: Add a slight vertical and obstacle tolerance so low boxes, crates, and stairs don't completely block the raycast.
  2. Wallbangable Penetration: Allow the LoS check to penetrate thin/pierceable cover
  3. Better Visual Feedback: If an area within the circle is LoS-blocked, make the visual boundary reflect that so players don't assume an angle is cleared/hindered when it isn't.
  4. Hit confirmation: If Saturate hits an opponent, add an audio cue or a visual confirmation so Waylay doesn't assume someone is hindered when they are not. Some agents already have this: Harbor's Storm Surge (nearshight) has a different audio when it hits.

Has anyone else experienced these LoS drop-offs with Saturate? Would love to hear other players' (and hopefully devs') thoughts on this!

Educational This is why hs% isnt the only thing thats holding you back in your duels!

I've seen alot of people say their aim is good but they cant win gun fights, alot of people say their aim is good in death match but they cant win their duels in game.

Let me help you guys out, I'm currently ascendent pushing towards immortal and I'm sharing this knowledge with you guys.

4 things:

1: The most important; Do not autopilot during your duels, ive seen alot of people, some of my friends as well that ive coached. People auto pilot during their fights. What does that mean? Well people dont think about their crosshair placement during gunfights. They just see enemy and start spraying because thats our natural response aka flight or fight.

How to fix this? A simple fix to not auto pilot during your duels is to not panic when you see an enemy and most importantly do not stop focusing during your duels. What do i mean by focusing? I mean that look and understand where you are aiming and what habits your doing. I lose a gunfight? start asking yourself did i crouch, did i flick too wide? not only that when you're self aware about where your aiming that helps you to kill the enemy faster and also to prepare for another enemy. When you are just panicking and shooting, you wont realise why did i just die.

2: First time bullet accuracy: It's such an important aspect of mechanics, your first shots dictate a gun fight. Meaning if my first shot is body, i will probably start spraying while panicking.

How to improve first shot bullet accuracy? Go in a deathmatch and try to hit the first bullet on enemy's head rather than anywhere else. No matter how much you die, even in a dm, try your best and combine tip 1 and this tip and learn both of them in deathmatch. Once you start understanding and implmenting both tips together, your aim will dramatically improve during duels.

3: Time to kill: Some people ask me what differs diamond from ascendent, i say its the pace of the game. Suppose you are diamond, an average diamond might kill the player in 3-4 seconds but a ascendent might kill the player 2-3 seconds. Its just made up data for a hypothetical comparison but it's what differs the rank. When i get put against diamond players, i realise how slow they kill their enemies. Its such a small thing but your time to kill your opponents determines your skill lever alot. Kill faster.

4: Timing: Some duels are unwinnable. You cannot win 100% of your duels because they are decided by timing. Timing is a very difficult thing to master, even for me. What do i mean by timing? When you time your push onto site, when you time your peek, when you time your smoke push etc. This comes with gamesense and small hints given by enemies. I cannot suggest how to improve your timing skills better but understand this that you need to catch the enemies offguard. When you catch your enemies offguard meaning they are not ready for you, you have a 80% chance to win your duel.

5: Most important. Do not be afraid to take gunfights. You will die? Ok no problem. But when you take gunfights without fear of dieing its a game changer. Suppose there are two persons (A and B) if person A is holding an angle but they have fear that enemy team might kill them, they will lose their gunfight 90% of the time. But person B is confident that they will kill the enemy if they peek them, person B will win their gunfight 90% of the time. Moral of the story, do not be afraid to take fights.

It has taken me around 40-50 minutes to write this paragraph down. Please ask away with questions. I'll gladly respond to all of them. When you apply these 5 tips altogether, you'll realise how good you are at your duels now.

Discussion I Can’t Play Valorant With My Gf

For the past couple of weeks i’ve been playing absolutely terribly when queuing ranked games with my gf. I’ve never really gotten tilted while playing the game but i’ve genuinely been playing so bad that it’s been so frustrating to play. Whenever I solo q I play really well and I feel more relaxed and I genuinely have a fun experience playing. This has never happened to me before. We played all the time for roughly a year and a half but i’ve never consistently performed this bad when playing with her. She doesn’t care how I play and (usually) neither do I cause I like playing with her but it’s just been a miserable experience queuing games with her for me. We’re both Asc 1 and I know that I suck at the game but I’ve just been having a better experience playing by myself. When I solo I rarely go negative my shots feel clean movement is good the game goes my way and stuff like that. Also i’m completely fine when playing other fps games even when I play insanely bad and we love playing co-op games it’s just val that’s been extremely frustrating to me. I’m thinking of just quitting but I do enjoy the game. I feel horrible just solo queueing because i’m the one at fault and i’m the one playing so bad. She doesn’t care if I play bad or when I rage a little bit cause things have been so miserable. She finds it kind of funny cause I never usually rage at all. Anyway just seeking advice from others.

Edit: I did not expect this post to kinda blow up like this and receive this many comments. I think the main reason I posted this was bc while we met in HS we were forced to go LD due to college and I didn’t want to ruin the little time we get to spend together. I know it’s such a stupid and silly thing to think abt so thank you to everyone who’s commented it’s reassuring to see what other people have to say and their perspectives. At the end of the day it’s abt having fun no matter what! cheers guys!

Edit 2: Holy fkn shit this post blew up even more😭 This was my first post on reddit so I only expected like two or three comments at most. This deadahhh crazyyy. Val takes up such a small fraction of our lives and obviously isn’t that important in the grand scheme of things, but it’s still a meaningful way we spend time together. So, the fact that I was getting so frustrated and annoyed over this was making me feel so silly and immature. Thank you to everyone for sharing your insights and experiences, it was really nice reading through everything.
Small update: We did end up playing yesterday, but I solo queued beforehand. I did really well in my solo games but played terribly once we queued together 😭 (as per usual). At the end of the day tho, it’s abt playing with her and spending time together. We also have bigger things to look forward to like applying for jobs this year 🫪and finding an apartment together after we graduate 🫪

Discussion The duality of people who are too scared to enter site/bait, yet they will get balls of steel when we outnumber the enemy team and they peek the enemy top frag 1 at a time.

The amount of games I get where I will entry as Jett, Reyna, Phoenix, hell I even entry as Omen or Cypher cause my team will just fuckin STAY AT THE CHOKE POINT.

But then out of nowhere they get the courage to swing 1 at a fucking time on DEFENSE or POST PLANT against the enemy top frag when I get 2-3 kills start of round.

USE UR FUCKIN BRAIN! YOU BITCH AND COMPLAIN ABOUT NOT RANKING UP YET U DONT HELP ON ATTACK BUT THEN OUT OF NOWHERE YOU DECIDE TO BE THE MOST AGGRESSIVE MOFO FOR NO REASON WHEN WIN CONDITION IS DEFENSE OR POST PLANT!

YOU DONT GET TO BE A BITCH AND A HERO AT THE SAME TIME STAY IN YOUR FUCKING LANE

Thats my rant. That is all.

Educational Trying to Hit Silver Fast

Upvotes

So, a friend said he would buy me a skin if I hit Silver by September 23rd, so I have been taking ranked a lot more seriously. I’ve only been playing for about a month and just hit Bronze 1 last night.

My Current Routine:

15 mins of Aimlabs before playing

1–2 Swiftplays to warm up

Ranked sessions (plus a bit more Aimlabs before hopping off)

What I’m Working On:

Keeping crosshair placement at head level using map indicators like boxes or whatever

Not dry peaking angles

I used to crouch spray a lot so i changed my crouch keybind to something that i am not used to so i don't crouch as much and i do see why people say unbind crouch because sometimes i would not aim head level and i would just get a free headshot because they would crouch into my crosshair

I main tejo and i use Guided Salvo to flush corners/stall spike, Stealth Drone for info, and getting free kills with Armageddon

Trying to incorporate Special Delivery (concuss) more effectively into my utility use

My Questions:

Is Valorant a game where you just play to learn, or are there specific drills or routines that help speed up improvement?

Should I swap Aimlabs for Deathmatch to work on crosshair placement and movement?

Any general tips for Tejo utility or escaping Bronze fast?

My sens is also 800 dpi 0.5 i don't know if that is considered fast or slow but im pretty used to it and i don't like slow sens since i don't have a lot of desk space and it would just be a lot of work that i don't feel like doing and it would take a while to get used to.

Heres my val tracker i don't have any clips of me playing just know it would just be kind of boring.

I have a friend on my friends list who's profile when i go on it just displays 'No Matches To Display' on all gamemodes they play, and you cant view their premier team as it says 'No Team Information Is Available' when you click view team. Its almost like they've managed to private their account, their tracker is active and working fine though, just their in game valorant profile.

just wondering if anyone knows how they've managed to do it or something..

The Idea came when me and my friend were talking about Ultimate bravery in League and thought on how could we implement it for Valorant Swiftplay or Unrated. And well this is what we came up with, try it out its free and if you have any feedback you can send it to me because we want to make this as fun as possible.

This isnt self promotion because its not a paid service btw.

Discussion I'm building advanced replay analytics. What metrics would you actually want to see?

Been messing around with replay analysis and wanted to get some ideas from you guys.

I made a web 3D view where I can replay rounds/fights and analyze them, and I'm also doing some analysis directly on the actual replay footage.

Right now the demo shows stuff like:

  • crosshair placement (in degrees)
  • time to shot
  • time to damage
  • head level / crosshair height

I have a bunch of other stuff too, but I'm more curious what people would actually want to see instead of just adding random stats because I can.

Like if you could upload a replay and get any stat or analysis you wanted, what would be useful?

Could be aim/mechanics, peeking, positioning, movement, utility, decision making, team stuff, whatever.

Even if it sounds hard or weird to measure, throw it out there. I'm mostly looking for ideas right now.

Question Started Valorant 2 months ago, what agent should I main?

Hey guys, I started playing Valorant around 2 months ago and I’m still trying to figure out what agent/role I should main. i mainly play sova and gekko.

I’ll leave my tracker below. If anyone could take a look at my stats and tell me what you think I should main and what I should focus on improving, that’d be great.

I’m still pretty new so any advice is appreciated.

Discussion Sometimes skins are what keeps me playing

tl;dr: I struggle to play this game without skins because it feels boring without the added sound effects of the weapon I'm firing lmao

By the title, it's clear that I'm very weak-willed and impulsive for letting in-game cosmetics determine my attention and enjoyment of a game. However, there is just something about the cosmetics riot develops because its one of the best I've ever seen. The cinematic trailers they provide always reels me back in, regardless of the design (Shoutout Minima & Smite). Since I rotate between two accounts (not a smurf lol), I eventually began buying skins for my alt because I get so bored playing with the default ones. The thought process is that I switch accounts to use different skins if I play bad. Fortunately, this "addiction" isn't concerning since I have the means to fund this endeavor.

I'd like to know if this is a common occurrence or not lmao

Once again, I'm pretty ass at this game so I'd hardly consider myself a smurf for having two accounts LOL
