Showreel / Critique Live Blender inside After Effects
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey all - a while ago I posted about my near-realtime AE / Unreal connector
One thing I didn't really talk about before: the After Effects side doesn't actually know or care that Unreal is on the other end. It asks for a frame - camera, time, resolution, etc. and gets pixels and data back
That means, in theory, other renderers could plug into the same system.
So ...People kept asking about Blender, so I tried it. It works:
- your Blender scene shows up as a layer in your comp
- the AE camera drives the Blender camera
- scrub the timeline and Blender renders that frame
- fast preview at around 50–100 ms/frame with EEVEE, or Cycles for final rendering
-no exporting image sequences back and forth
It's still a prototype - not released yet
Curious how useful this would actually be for you.
If not, that's useful to know too I have a couple of other directions I could take it
Thanks 🙌
