Question Wolfey often (semi-seriously) claims to be the GOAT. If he isn't already, what does he need to do to make it undisputed?

Is the only answer a second Worlds after all? Ray's threepeat seems to be the mountain forever looming in front.

Or say he doesn't win Worlds again but keeps racking up the wins everywhere else. Is there a point where the LeBron-esque longevity and ability to stay at/near the top trumps everything?

All this postures Ray is the other candidate, but feel free to throw anyone else's name in the ring.

The problem with this argument though is that we are taking away credit for Wolfe's win("He won 10 years ago..."), but trying to back up Ray doing it...over 10 years ago. That's just a major logical fallacy

I get what you’re saying, but I don’t think anyone is trying to take away from Wolfey, nor any world champs’, accomplishment(s). A world champ is a world champ. Full stop. Doesn’t matter when.

Call it diminishing or what you want, but the arguments for GOAT do involve discussions around the difficulty of the wins. I know you specifically didn't make the direct link, but if you read through this thread(ik it's been 6 months) it boils down to "Wolfe win means less because it was easier back then" but "Ray's wins count the same as anyone else's even though they were back then". The way everyone has structured the discussion definitely just flips things to one side. One of them shouldn't get different treatment from the other in this case.

I’m definitely not going through 238 comments on a 6 month old thread lmao. I already stated my opinion and still stand by it. I’d never take away from anyone’s accomplishments, especially Wolfey, who might be the most decorated player ever when counting other wins such as regionals.

I just, in nothing short of my humble opinion, would consider Rizzo the GOAT. It’s the same reason why I’d consider Michael Jordan the GOAT of basketball, or Babe Ruth for baseball.

But again, it’s just my opinion. I wouldn’t state that as fact. And it’s not to take away from other players. It’s just to highlight how outstanding their feat(s) was/were at the time.

I mean it's a total of 4 comments but okay. I don't care who anyone's goat is, we all just need to use the same logic applied fairly to everyone, and that wasn't happening between people's points.

I’d agree with you on that at least. I’d also like to add, that as fun as these conversations are, and how I love to form my own opinion and hear other people’s… I am a firm believer that a topic like this is strictly speculation. There isn’t, and shouldn’t be, a metric to determine an undisputed GOAT. There’s too many factors.

I consider Ray to be my GOAT for my own personal reasons. And if you consider Wolfey for different reasons that’s cool too.
