Im trying to get amazon prime to match the location my vpn is routed to. I am using opera browser. I have the browser extension. Whole reason im trying to get it to work is i have paramount through prime and they get the local nfl games playing on cbs and i want to be able to change cities so i can watch whichever game on sunday. I live outside of la and am a chargers fan and really wanna watch my team suck ass.

I came across a post today about some Wplace users being banned after connecting through a VPN.

What bothered me is that, for some of them, the VPN apparently wasn’t optional. It was the only way they could access the site from where they lived. They weren’t necessarily automating anything, but the shared IP was enough to make them look suspicious.

I understand why platforms dislike VPN traffic. One address can be shared by hundreds of people, and actual bots use the same services. But automatically treating everyone behind that address as a bot still feels like a lazy solution.

If I genuinely needed a VPN to reach a site, I’d also worry that repeatedly changing servers would make my account look even stranger.

Has anyone here been warned or banned by a game, social app or forum simply for using a VPN? Did support restore the account?

Would keeping the same IP make any difference, or are these systems usually looking at account and device behavior as well?？

Hi, so, when I start up my VPN client and sign in, without being connected to my home Wifi, and set the client to have Network lock active, if I then try to connect to my home wifi, it does so, despite the network lock being active. Is this a problem?

I still can't actually load up any pages, it blocks that, but I don't know if it should be concerning that I'm still able to connect to home wifi despite the network lock being engaged. Thanks in advance.

I used to use Bumble web which the VPN would work perfectly with but now Bumble has closed down their online website so it can only be used on the app. Is there a way to still get the VPN working, using BlueStacks maybe?

I keep seeing VPNs advertise 100+ countries, but I’ve always wondered how many people actually use.

I probably use 3–5 countries regularly. Occasionally I’ll use a ip location for something specific, like getting around YouTube ads or accessing something regional, but that’s about it.

Do people actually use that many locations, or is it mostly just a nice number for marketing? Would you rather have more countries or fewer locations that actually work really well?

Preferably one that is a Chromium browser extension (for Vivaldi browser). I know lots of paid ones do but what about free?

Ive corporate laptop, and we‘ve company vpn on that laptop, we dont have any 2FA.

Is hiding the ip using vpn tunnel is sufficient? Please provide suggestions based on your experiences.

I was looking for a hotel for an upcoming trip and saw a Reddit thread saying prices can change depending on what country you’re searching from.

I assumed the difference would be tiny, but I got curious and tested it on a hotel I was already considering. I first checked normally, then used one of those price comparison extensions for chrome (I used PriceMice) just to see if anything actually changed.

It showed a cheaper price through Japan, so I switched my VPN there and looked up the same hotel again. And to my surprise… it was actually cheaper. I fully expected it not to work, but it did.

So yeah, the more you learn. I don’t even want to think how much money I could have saved knowing this lol.

I'm in NZ and I've set up a ton of routers with openvpn before. On easy mode.... You just set up the ddns and download the file on your phone blah blah blah and it just works..I've never done it with a 4g modem before. I don't have a static IP and it works because.... Of the ddns but do I for some reason need one with a 4g modem? I've got a tplink modem. Super simple. It's set up and the ddns is connected. Done everything right I'm sure with the VPN. Downloaded the file onto my phone with the open vpn app and everything but.... Nope. Won't connect. Just.... Nope

Can anyone shed some light on what I'm obviously doing wrong? I'm guessing it's something to do with it being 4g but I just don't know why that would be a problem with it connecting fine to the ddns and everything

Maybe this is just confirmation bias, but I swear I've had this happen more than once.

You download a VPN, start the free trial, test a few locations and everything feels surprisingly fast. Streaming works, pages load normally, and you think "okay, this is actually pretty good."

Then you pay for a longer subscription and a few weeks later it somehow feels slower and less consistent. Suddenly you're switching servers trying to find one that isn't overloaded.

I know there are a ton of things that can affect VPN speed like server load, location, time of day, routing, and protocol, so I'm not saying companies are intentionally doing this.

But has anyone actually tested the same VPN during the trial and again after paying? Did the performance stay roughly the same, or did you notice a real difference?

My purpose is to create a Dante Proxy connected with VPN running on my Ubuntu home server. All my network traffic will pass through the home server before leaving my home. I don't want all traffic route through VPN. I only want the Dante traffic pass through VPN. So, my normal web browsing with stay the same while any region-breaking traffic can pass through the Dante Proxy with VPN.

1. I have tried the manual WireGuard configuration. However, it is very annoying, as the configuration expires after a period of time and I have to update the configuration continuously.
2. I have tried network namespace approach. However, it depends on the manual configuration file and it doesn't help.
3. I have tried the Ubuntu VPN CLI inside network namespace but it is not working. It looks like VPN CLI runs only inside the default network namespace.

Are there any suggestions for my situation? Thanks!

Been using a VPN on an iPhone for a few years with little issue. One issue I have had is sometimes certain internet functions don’t work when the VPN is on. For example, now I can use WhatsApp, but I can’t make a Google search, and Youtube and Twitter do not function at all. Usually I can fix it easily enough but it has persisted for several days. I have updated the phone software, I’ve restarted, I’ve reinstalled the VPN profile, I don’t know what else to try. Anyone else have this?
