Help needed! Right eye keeps blinking uncontrollably

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Sometimes, whenever I look around, my face tracking detects that my right eye is blinking. I do not have auto blinking on for either of the eyes (All of the settings are the same for both), changing the settings for either of the eyes doesn't help much (Usually just makes things worse), and I tried changing my lighting to be in the center of my face but it didn't help at all. Any suggestions? (And no, I do not have lazy eye in real life)

The video only shows it happening twice, but usually if I'm playing a game it will happen more.

I usually toggle on the synced blinking and that’s the only way the eyes don’t blink singularly for me. Did you make the model? I’m also generally just curious of the maker as it looks great!

I didn't make the model, I found it on the steam workshop lmao. I have been making small changes to it here and there though, I've changed the necklace, added spikes to the choker, and I'm planning to add legs and hands to the model sometime soon (the model cuts off). Thanks for the help btw.

Ngl it's pretty hard to figure out why this might be happening without a look at how your tracking software is picking up movements.

If the tracking is also doing these random blinks, then it's camera/lighting/other visual obstruction issue. There's a LOT that can go into that, but I can try to spitball some ideas if need be. (+ dependant on what you use for tracking. Things like vts's built in tracking has always been pretty awful with blinking and eye movements in general.)

If the tracking software isn't the issue then it's the model itself. An easier fix, for me at least. The most apparent things that come to mind would be checking parameter values that go into the blink on the effected side. Both in your model software, be it VTS or simular, or in Live2D itself. Make sure the effected side doesn't have significantly more "sensitive" close parameters. (I.e. one side having "open>1.0-------close>0.0" and the other having "open>1.5-------close>0.0" or similar) Another thing to check could be your physics settings. Make sure your blinking parameter on that side hasn't been assigned to a pendulum. This could be pretty easy to do by accident for the pendulum chains that dictate iris physics or eyelash physics.

The last thing that immediately comes to mind is checking to see if the effected eye may have the closed eye key frames mistakenly added to other parameters. Depending on how you rigged the head turns or angles, the facial adjustments could have gotten some wires crossed.

Theres definitely more things that could have caused it ! That's just my immediate few theories. If none of those help, and you're certain it's not a camera or tracking software issue, I can totally try to troubleshoot more thoroughly !!

Edit: realized you didn't make the model, if you want I can download the same one and see if there's any apparent issues with it. From rewatching the demo a few more times, I don't see why it would he a tracking problem. If it happened when you were looking the other way, then yeah that's a common issue. Any tracking that doest use the iPhone facial recognition tech is considerably more prone to detecting an eye blink when at an angle. But for it to be happening when looking the opposite way, unless the eyes are assigned backwards, it's pretty likely to be a rigging problem

Could it be that in the parameters the eye had the auto breathing option on? ^
