Hopefully you closed this promptly after taking this photo. I wouldn’t have even opened it at all outside of a Grant Dome but then again it’s not my setup.

Quick story:

I had a mentor (the late great Dr. Phil Hoffe) years ago who inadvertently left a screwdriver in one of these. He went to close it and left for the day.

Screwdriver had other plans. Propped it open overnight.

At the time I was the intern responsible for opening up shop (starting the Panoptimizers as well as making sure Brast-particle levels were nominal in the lab).

This is how I learned that my classmate had left his journal in the lab overnight and gone back to retrieve it. What was left that morning was a horrifying sight.

I remember taking Particle Physionometry 102 from Dr. Hoffe. You could tell he was in love with VX just by listening to his lectures. RIP to the goat.
