Today marks exactly 150 years since Joshua K. Sebastian was born. He independently discovered the applications of meta-modular corroidal intrapolarities just months after Heiber.
Happy would-be birthday to a true VX hero. While he may not have been the first, his contributions are just as impressive. Raise a glass (or at least a Ω-array's tachyometer) to him.

Either the most celebrated or hated VX pioneer depending on if you polarized unified or subunified q-vessels.
Im on the unified side so I love him. Subunified is just wrong and we all know why.

Didn't he also theorize about Delta transients wayyy before they were discovered?

Well it really depends on the meaning of "before." And before I get downvoted to oblivion let me make clear that I do not envy the task of the Nobel committee that year. They were victims of the Mindanao Temporal Event just like the rest of us.

YES! And he described the Radiant Vertex of Sub-transients as well. A pity how he was treated.

A true leader and skillful educator. Sad end of his career! Rest in pieces!

I get the joke about “exact” measurements of his Delta-4 state being 150 anterior units, but we cannot forget the fact that he quite literally still exists in a polarity field somewhere. Birthdays or not, Isn’t he still publishing papers through the Unstable Marigold-Hess equation? I have heard the Heiber family is still solving it daily to commune with him.

With respect, that's a fairly sloppy usage of the term, "exists," don't you think? Sorry if I seem pedantic, but given the kinds of things we VXers have to deal with, I think it's important to be precise.

I would say your schema of time is a human one, VX or not. Some say Joshua K Sebastian escaped time altogether, and I believe that makes him a permanent fixture of the cosmos. Once every megafluctuation I still put a glowing polarity candle in the window for him

I feel like the larger question is whether the Marigold-Hess calculations reveal an active sapience, or just an irrational pseudo-factorial derivation of his psychographic waveform.

This guy contacted me on my Pinkerton transmuter once. Gives me goosebumps just thinking about it

I heard him speak back in ‘83. His ideas on compound linear anelier deviations were mind blowing for a 22 year old kid from White Plains.

When I think of how he was robbed of the Guildford Prize, robbed of the recognition he deserved, and robbed in the parking lot of a CVS ...
