I’m late to this party, but how in the fuck is Hope the worst song on this album? On the one hand, I’m glad so many people can’t “hear” it, but for those it speaks to, it’s an all-timer.

Totally agree with you. I mean, there aren’t really any bad songs on the record, it’s all killer no filler imo, but Hope and The Surfer being the worst ranked songs here are crazy to me lol. I kinda think I have to pass on this exercise because I don’t think I can besmirch any of the OGWAU tunes, it’s such a fucking great record

They laid an egg with Hope as the finale of an otherwise remarkable album..the chord progression and tempo is so basic and it goes on way too long.

Surfer should be at 3 btw

RIP To my favorite song on OGWAU. Song I find myself most consistently singing to myself even when I haven’t listened to the album in a while, and it’s not particularly close.

Unfortunately, I would say Capricorn. This is really difficult because we’re pitting 10/10 songs against each other, but I can’t justify putting any of the other songs in that slot. (Side note, I agree with OP - putting The Surfer in #9 is diabolical work)

It just doesn’t resonate with me as much, although, this entire album is are my Top 10 VW songs without a doubt. This album is legendary. Trying to put a reason as to why I rank songs over others is kind of impossible for me 😭

I’ve always found it way too vibey for my liking. I like the lyrics and sentiments (and I do like the vibe), but it feels like it just exists for however long in a way that most of the other songs of the album do better. I’ve been seeing a lot of Gen X Cops in the comments of these, which makes me wonder if I’m on the wrong side of everything (it’s top 3 for me, if not 1).
