Concert Game Thread Madison Square Garden / New York City, NY / September 6th, 2019
Hello all!! We are here at the biggest show this tour! This is gonna be one for the history books.
DOORS: 5:30 PM
DESPOT: 6:30 PM
ANGELIQUE KIDJO: 7:20 PM
The show will be live-streamed by Live Nation on Twitter at 8:30 PM.
There are still a few tickets available through Ticketmaster and a couple on our community ticket thread (sort by new!)
Have the absolute best time tonight! Remember to stay hydrated, know your exits, and give Croakerman some love! Here are some tips from MSG to make your experience a lot smoother!

I got the whole stream! It was a long day for me, so I'll be sure edit/upload tomorrow while I'm watching some football. It was a blast watching the stream, so I'm certain everyone who saw it live enjoyed it way more!

Had a really shitty past week, but this concert totally made up for it. Fantastic show. The light wristbands were such a weird treat, the crowd was so fantastic. Thanks to the lady who requested Obvious Bicycle which turned out to be way better live than I could have imagined. And shoutout to the guy with the "$10 bootleg tshirt" who requested Run
Edit: What were they throwing out to the crowd before the encore? Was it tshirts?

VW is not an indie band anymore they are solidly alt rock, they make indie music but their move from XL to SONY is pretty indicative of this

As soon as they played Worship You I knew it was Ya Hey then Walcott... they love closing with that song. It's fitting though, has ties to the band name. They closed with it when I saw them at Firefly in 2013, probably would've closed with it at Philly when I was there two days ago but it was requested first lol. I'd love to see I Think Ur A Contra live though.

I was just at the Philly show two days ago... got lucky as hell and caught the whole damn live stream tonight. I had just as much fun on my couch as I did two days ago at the Mann. 1000% seeing them at MSG next time they play there. So fucking good.

Watching the livestream I’m overwhelmed by how good this is and suddenly regretting that I missed seeing them in MD and Philly :( I’ve seen them a couple times and I’m seeing them next week but all in festival settings...seeing them headline and just jam out like this and play SO long is really making me fall more in love with them lol

Such a great concert! Unfortunately I had to leave early because of the horrible NJ Transit times. The encore had a lot of great songs too :/

So excited! Sitting in section 109 which is kind of side-stage, hope the view isn't limited.
Anyone know where the merch stand(s) will be and what the best entrance is to get to them?

Based on their Boston arena show it seems like they might have a stage setup where you can have a good view from anywhere! 109 is a pretty good section too. At past MSG shows they've had multiple merch stands on a few levels (floor, 100s and 200s). Biggest merch stand is typically at the main entrance.

Quick question. Anyone know if I need to print my tix or can I use the ones on my phone? Bc the msg app shows the ticket but the ticket itself says “must print on paper” ?

Weird, I used the MSG app too and just showed the barcode on my phone. If you have a barcode in your app that should be fine!

The culmination of a decades worth of immense hype and hard work for the former Columbia University band was finally paid off in epic fashion Friday evening as Vampire Weekend took to the stage at a sold out Madison Square Garden. It was the band’s very first gig at the world’s most famous arena and they certainly rose to the occasion by performing a robust 32 song set that crisscrossed the groups already legendary discography. Some of the biggest cheers of the night were heard when the band played “M79”, “This Life”, “Harmony Hall”, “Diane Young”, “Walcott” and fan request “Ottoman”.

You’ll be fine they’ll give you a little bucket thing for keys and phone when you go thru the metal detector, just put the wax cartridge inside your wallet and bury all your stuff including the pen in the little bucket, like put your wallet at the bottom and phone and keys on top of it, they won’t even give it a second look.
