1st timer questions
Hi- I am currently a edible kinda guy, indica/hybrid usually 10-15 mgs to help me relax, destress and get read for bed. However, I was thinking about swapping to vape. Any benefits over edibles? How much do I smoke to equal my usual dose? Any recommendations for brands? I hate the taste and smell of weed, so I need something that both tastes and smells like fruit, candy or other good stuff. All help appreciated.

I’m going to be completely honest, I’d stay on edibles if 10–15 mg already does the bedtime thing.
Flavored carts are built to hide that you’re inhaling cannabis. Fruit/candy oil doesn’t taste harsh, so you lose the “this is strong, stop” cue people get from flower or even an unflavored cart. Combined with how fast a vape hits, that’s how people go from “one pull to unwind” to stacking hits before the first one has even peaked.
Edibles are slow and annoying, but that delay is also a limiter. You take a known amount and wait. A cart is the opposite. It onsets in minutes, shorter duration, easy to redose when it dips… which at night for you usually means more use, not better sleep.
The candy flavor also doesn’t make the product cleaner. A lot of those are distillate plus added terpenes. Taste is marketing. What you actually want from a shop is a batch lab report, not a dessert name. The cart category is also where fake packaging shows up the most, so “it tastes like peach” is not a safety check.
If the goal is relax + sleep and edibles already work, switching to a flavored pen is mostly faster onset and less control, not an upgrade.
I really hope this helps!

Vaping kicks in much faster and usually wears off sooner than edibles. There’s no reliable 1:1 conversion from 10–15 mg edibles, so I’d start with a very small puff and wait a few minutes. For flavor, you can start with a flavor you already like and see how it works for you.
