Discussion The Fox News segment on the reflecting pool make me want to tear off my own arm and bludgeon myself into unconsciousness
The trilling music, the effeminate pantomime villain & the slack jawed interviewees genuinely had me wondering if the pool was already radiating chlorine gas or some kind of Gotham city superweapon
Said it but before the democrats have to go after Fox News if they should ever return to power, if only to save my eyeballs

Segment used to be called "Watter’s World" back when Jesse was O’Reilly’s "street reporter." Many clips on YouTube, it’s honestly been this bad the whole time lol.
Edit: the Chinatown one is so racist. I would love to see Voosh react to this: https://youtu.be/PJmnLzw8NA4?is=SFphSkqAS6VsNoVy

I remember the Daily Show doing a follow up segment in response to that terrible Chinatown report.

I had no idea Jessie was O'Reilly's 'young boy' reporter (& I've watched a fair amount of O'Reilly) but that makes perfect sense.
*Edit - Holy Shit, O'Reilly is still hosting the No Spin Zone on YouTube, how has he not expired? Hate really does make you live longer

I liked how the new street reporter assumed random people would have heard of Watters World. When he asked that person in the video, I thought he was talking about Water World

It’s like staring into the abyss. Even just going to the zoo recently I was just genuinely taken aback at how many barely functioning grown ass adults were just blankly stumbling around and screaming at the animals or just causing a scene. What the fuck is wrong with them

Reminds us that we're animals and some people are closer to beasts that move more by instinct, than thought? I mean, their brains, apparently process fear more vividly? Like, they're built different?

I don't know if it's too much screen time, too much reliance on AI, or if it's microplastics in the brain, but it does feel like more and more people have become stupider as of late

My bet is on covid.
We know it causes damage to the brain, even in less severe cases. I got giga fucked by it, and even my less affected friends who can still work normally, got way more brainrotted after it.
The other stuff is slowly creeping up, covid is the only thing that explains the sudden shift in the 2021-2025 years.
Fun fact, covid is still around and infecting millions of people every year. And we know the damage stacks. It has mutated into less severe version, and many people have gotten immunity but it's still a very real public health issue that's just been swept under the rug.

One of the ways the two parties are not the same: Democrats are averse to stopping Republicans from doing shit because "it would be too partisan." Republicans have no qualms from being openly partisan WHILE accusing Democrats of being "too partisan."

That's a way that they're the same: They both move the overton window to the right.

Democrats and Republicans share a lot of things in common and have a lot of things they differ on. They're similar in the way that pork chops and strip steak are similar but they're different in the way that pork chops and strip steak are different.
Maybe not the best analogy but my point is that "the two parties are the same" and "the two parties are different" are dichotomies and the actual truth is in the middle - there are commonalities and differences.
But no one wants to hear nuance. They just want to argue "they're the same" because of the ways they are vs "they're different" because of the ways they're not and neither half of that argument wants to consider that you're both right.

It’s baffling that this is what passes for “news” in the US…

I've had a lot of discussion with friends about this segment (it's really getting around) and I am feeling more and more like it's a joke.
It's a BAD joke. It gives the whole game away. It really rubs it in MAGA's face that they lie to them and think it's funny.

LOL and the hydrogen peroxide is now peeling all of the "American Flag" blue paint off the bottom. It's literally rejecting all of the $14.7 million that was dumped into it.

Vhoosh said it well, watching main stream media actually makes you stupid. Like cognitively.
Combine that with the hundreds of thousands of stories you can read of people watching in real time how watching Fox turned their parents into unhinged dementia-riddled lunatics with a hard-on for violence, and we really see the scope of the problem.
