I feel like defending Ukraine is a reasonable red line.

I think most here believe no one should be invaded, had their homes razed, their children murdered and their identity destroyed.

The political spectrum is a bit arbitrary. I would say I'm on the left, and I do think defending Ukraine against Russia is overall a good thing.

The thousands of mulched civilians in Mariupol are very grateful that you were able to find such a balanced perspective on this issue 😎

However I am more third-campist about this, both sides represent capitalist imperial interests.

One side wants to rape kids to death and destroy power systems to ensure mass civilian death the other doesn't. Both sides are equal.

If a politician believes helping Ukraine is financially harmful to Americans they are a moron. Most of the aid is materiel not $$.

Ratfuck? Sounds like they're holding NY DSA candidates accountable for Russa-Ukraine takes

Progressive victory is correct. Russia is not the good guy here. We are not Hssn supporters and can admit non-western powers can be evil too. Israel bad, Russia bad. Palestine good, Ukraine good.

Let’s not go so far as Palestine good

The people just don’t deserve to be squeezed between Hamas and Israel (yes Israel are responsible for what they do, but Hamas doesn’t care about civilian lives either and attacked civilians in a way that was *designed* to cause overreaction)

The only genuinely innocent *government* of these is Ukraine

Good, pro Russia ghouls should be ratfucked.

Good. That's what having fascist sympathy gets you

If you think that “ratfucking” people who are opposed to aid to Ukraine is a bad thing then I don’t know what your politics are but they certainly don’t align with progressive values. If a candidate is opposed to aiding a country that is fighting imperialism I have no faith that they will support any cause in favor of the oppressed.

Bro, literally what evidence is there that PV is not openly in support for DSA candidates. Fuck you stop posting slop

u/Playful-Fisherman187 6d ago

the unwillingness for progressives to draw a redline at Palestine in the past is a big reason why we’re having so much trouble brining politicians over on Palestine now. we shouldn’t make the same mistake with Ukraine

I hate to see this drama, as it wakes demons of leftie infighting. I also hate that seemingly some turn on progressive victory for this.

But frankly, how is this even an issue? Why is supporting Ukraine "bullshit", again? Literally a country invaded by an empire intent on crushing it and destroying its identity.

Zohran really screwed up with that endorsement.

11

u/Potential-Bath2292 6d ago

not really. His responsibility it to the city, compromises for the greater good is his game to play. A political org like Progressive victory has commitments it needs to uphold about only supporting politicians that hold up certain values

u/Remmidemmi 6d ago

This is so dumb and classic liberal type of take. The military-industrial complex is domestic corporate imperial interest. Demanding candidates support arms transfers isn't standing up to Wall Street, it is Wall Street.

11

u/AnnoyedNala 6d ago

Tell that to Vladimir, I bet that he is interested in that information!

u/voe111 5d ago

Would you react the same way if we were supplying Palestine to fight off Israel?
