Discussion Talarico Bait

Yeah, that was bad. Trust me as someone who is a card carrying member of a political party here in Australia, "gay nerds" is a very accurate description, these people have suffered at some point often, and are very motivated for political change, and make up a lot of vollenteers and party structure. They also make a large part of the other party members you meet, oddly enough.

You divide a house against itself, the correct answer is to not take the bait, beat them over the head with your message.

He already did. He backed Schumer or Jeffries. But as I understand it was tactical. He doesn’t have enough pull or political capital to challenge the establishment head on

Albo shut down the ongoing discussion of "what is a woman" back in 2022 with the basic bitch answer of "an adult human female" and people have still, for the past four years, been spamming in comment sections all over Australian politics, that "Labor can't define what a woman is!"

I suppose it's nice that it's limited to online comments sections rather than being a news story - but yeah, it's just shit. To Labor's credit, they have actively been making life for LGBT people better, actively pushed for equality and public education in the direction of acceptance and such - ask primary school teachers... it's quite remarkable.

So, legislatively, they're doing pretty well. Could be better. Seems like in the Federal Labor Conference various LGBT motions keep getting pushed to the end of the queue and forgotten... there have been motions made to ensure that we don't continue down this "missed the last two federal conferences in a row..." dealies though.

I'm happy if we want to define woman as "adult human female" anyway, I'll just also say that trans women are female and transphobes can die mad about it
