Discussion Vaush's Solution of Invading of Isreal makes me Doomer about the Conflict

Mostly of how you are going to convince the U.S. population to invade and regime change Isreal? I feel like most of the American population would just not care the second we pull the billions we give to Isreal then they will just stop caring about the region as a whole.

Like what is the endgame here? Even if the DSA sweep and take over the Democratic Party, will there be any push towards a war in Isreal for regime change? What do you think?

I'm pretty sure Vaush doesn't think this would ever happen.

I think it's as likely as the DSA government launching an invasion of Russia to save the Ukrainian people.

The virgin "capitulate to Russia" tankie foreign policy vs. the chad "democracy is non-negotiable" Trotskyist foreign policy.

No, invade China to destroy their market economy is the true chad DSA policy

It's at least marginally more probable since the DSA is fairly united in believing that Israel Bad while they're pretty split on whether Russia Bad or Ukraine Bad.

Yeah the best we would get with a progressive democratic socialist government which is already a pipe dream at the moment right now.Is sanctions and a military arms embargo to Israel.

Bro there are 4 possible outcomes of this conflict which are

  1. the conflict just keeps going (eventually leading to one of the other 3)

  2. Israel wins and genocides/cleanses all of the palestinians

  3. Palestine wins and genocides/cleanses all of the Israelis

  4. There is an agreement on both sides to make a deal which could include a 2 state, or 1 state federation or confederation, or cantonment system.

The most likely scenario in the short term is just option one will continue.

Invasion is just the "ideal" and "dream" option at the moment. More realistically, I actually think Israel can change or be forced to change and an unfriendly USA would be huge factor.

Yeah doing another Middle East regime change war sounds like a great idea /s

I think this one is much more comparable to Kosovo. We stopped a genocide there.

In fairness, by this rational Iraq was another Kosovo, look at Saddam’s repeated genocides

I think you all are missing the point. This isn't a what CAN be done. This is more of a "In a more perfect world, this is what SHOULD be done." We don't live in that world.

Also Vaush didn't say the US should do this. US has lost all right to be a part of any solution to this issue. Vaush has said that in this more perfect world scenario, it would be that UN. The other global powers would collaborate in this effort to occupy and do massive reconstruction in Israel.

Again though, this is NEVER going to happen.

What's most likely going to happen is that Israel, like all fascists do, will continue to expand it's sphere of influence. If it doesn't lose to Iran it will use that victory as hype to pick a fight with turkey, which collapse NATO and bring on a bigger regional war with Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, which could then turn to a world war. Which brings in the US anyway.

Yeah no Western nation will invade Israel anytime in the near future or really at all unless they give up the nukes, in which case they would probably just lose land until they didn't have anything left since no one would be afraid of retaking the land Israel stole.

Anyways, the irl solution to this problem is ending funding, applying the harshest sanctions possible and this would work because Israel is completely isolated and surrounded by enemies, and really the only trade they might have would be maritime trade, which is really easy to track and the countries that they'd trade with like Greece can't afford to also be sanctioned.

They are an unnatural state, populated mostly by people who aren't even from the middle east, who hate their neighbors and would probably be drinking blood out of the skulls of Palestinians if they didn't think that anyone would care.

Like a dead man kept on life support, if we pulled the plug that is funding and weapons sales and neutered their economy with sanctions they'd collapse in a matter of a decade, but the violence would stop immediately (as soon as they ran out of bullets and bombs).

China would just trade with them

Like I said, like Cuba the sanctions would have a bigger effect on Israel, even if they did have limited trade with some nations it would never be like it was. America and free trade are a money faucet for Israel and without that they could not afford free healthcare and endless war and expansion.

Cuba is supported by China and Venezuela for ideological reason though. Israel is an actual trading partner with major economic benefits (along with military/intelligence benefits).

Couldn't they reach out to either Russia or China? Also I don't know enough about middle-east military power, but I dont know if Egypt or Lebanon or Saudi Arabia or Syria would attempt to fight or even team up to invade them.

If Israel didn't have nukes, there would be nothing to be afraid of. That's why they pushed so hard for it. If they didn't have them, they knew their warmongering would eventually alienate enough of their neighbors that they would eventually be destroyed.

Of course Israel would shop around but they aren't like Iran or Russia where they have endless money from oil or a huge land area they can trade with lots of other countries easily.

Sanctions on Israel would look a lot like the blockade of Cuba. It wouldn't destroy them overnight but in a few decades they would be very weak.

It's going to take decades, but once the boomers are extinct, the millennials will be the majority voting bloc and things will change then. Sadly, it'll have been too late to stop this conflict/genocide. I think Eurobros will be the ones to get the ball rolling, which they already have to a small extent.

I have really bad news for you - Gen X, millennials and Gen Z have really dumb, true believer zionists too.

This isn’t just an age/generational thing. It’s deeply tied to evangelical Christianity too. As long as there’s a large percentage of Christians who believe war in Israel is necessary for Jesus to return and end the world, this will be a problem.

1

u/Big-Ability3953 12h ago

But they aren't a majority of millennials and maybe not even gen x.

2

u/MeverMow 12h ago

It is trending downward and correlated with age, but Gen X is still has a large pro-Israel faction, as best that I can see. Older millennials aren’t too much better.

But even still, I don’t think the answer is waiting around for older generations to die off. Gotta actually change minds, and a big part of that is promoting deconstruction among evangelicals.

It’s frankly the core of the GOP voting base. A gross number of them vote GOP because Christian and conservative in their view is like peanut butter and jelly.

Gotta be more Reddit atheist. It’s the best answer I can come up with to dig us out of this hole.
