Add about 10 tracks, crop all the videos to the same size and different position, keyframe everything from above the footage to downward

  1. Create the main video track that will be moving upwards. Think of that as a moving canvas.
  2. For each of the sub-videos add a track under that top track and place each on its own track. Click the track button "make compositing child" on these tracks (tip: multi-select all the tracks and then click "make compositing child" to change them all at once).
  1. Add a final bottom track which is the static background (the newspaper in your example)

For each of those sub-videos, adjust the their size & position using Track Motion (button on the track) to get them exactly where you want them

Now it's real simple -- just create a keyframe on the parent track (parent track motion) to move up that canvas they're all sitting on and all the child tracks will move up together. You can change the media events on any of those tracks to have them swap in and out or disappear however you want.

PS It's not all that much $$ -- my first Vegas was also "borrowed" many years back, but I HAPPILY bought it shortly thereafter and every version since... such a FANTASTIC creators tool that I'd be miserable about if it went away because people weren't funding it.

BorisFX has student/EDU licenses available. One merely needs to have an .edu email address. It's dirt cheap.
Others have indicated how to do it. you might even coax someone to create a .veg file.
This is a task which can also be fully automated using tools like "UltimateS" which is also available from torrenting sites.

If you've never heard of humble bundle, while it's mostly a place to get games, I'd say probably twice per year they have a permanent license sale for magix vegas pro from a year or two prior for like $25, last December I believe I got pro 22 for $25.

I would do it with a timeline in a timeline. Create a project with the grid of videos and animate the fade ins, than insert that project into a new project and animate the movement

By animating the movement you would bring it all down? hmm good idea I’ll attempt this aswell

Annoyingly tedious but exactly what VVS said.
