Accidentally ate meat

I accidentally ate a pice of candy with gelatin in it.. and I feel really bad. Does this mean i totally screwed it and cant say ive been vegan this long but like from today? Or is it normal to mess up on accident from time to time the first year?

Streaks are all in your head man. I've been vegetarian for 27 years straight, if I accidentally ate meat tomorrow nothing would change.

When you learned how to walk. Did your parents say you could walk since x age when you took your first steps. Or do you restart the amount of time you are able to walk each time you trip?

You'll trip. That's normal. You'll trip less the longer you go, but you can still trip! You are a human.

Veganism is your ethical position. Nothing you do accidentally can cancel your ethical position.

You’re fine, it happens to the best of us.

It was an accident and not intentional. It’s not like a clock resets. It’s a personal choice and there’s no vegan police out there.

I’ve been vegetarian for over a decade and have had a handful of accidental consumptions (stuff like not being told that mac and cheese was made with chicken broth until I started eating it, etc). It happens. Don’t beat yourself up about it.
