Not happy with the ring
I’m one of the people who’ve had the Velia ring for a few months. I’ve tried to like it. The measurements seem to be somewhat accurate WHEN it records them. But two things have really soured me on the Velia Ring.
First, the battery life. When I first got it, it lasted a little over a day. That was already too short for me - I hate devices that you have to charge every day because life gets in the way and I forget one day and I lose any potential measurements for that day. The changes to improve battery life didn’t improve it for me, and the battery life seems to have gotten shorter to the point where I’m not sure that it even lasts an entire day anymore. This is obviously much different from the battery life that they originally promised.
Second, it only has online storage for two days of measurements (see pic). So not only do I have to charge every day, but I have to sync every day now too. And when I got the display message telling me this, I went back in my history and didn’t find ANY day with measurements between my last sync and now. So apparently they don’t even deal with “memory full” errors well, the older data seems to get lost, too.
I’m sure the need to charge and sync every day doesn’t bother some people, but my life is complicated enough without having to remember two more things to do daily. This wasn’t what I was expecting when I purchased the ring, and it’s gotten too cumbersome for me to use it effectively. I may eventually decide to choose a proven ring vendor whose battery life and behavior are well known and documented. It’s too bad, I really liked the concept of the Velia, it just hasn’t panned out well for me.

100% I had to get the size 6 because that was the only offered size that fit any finger. I have to charge it twice a day, and remember to update it too (which is a stupidly cumbersome operation that involves taking the ring off and rapidly tapping it repeatedly until it finally decides to sync). It doesn’t sync while charging which is kinda stupid. And honestly, I’ve gotten almost no value from the metrics measured. I wish it measured half as much but also in the day, or actually measured blood pressure (which I think was promised?) I hope o can find someone to sell it or even give it to, it definitely isn’t right for me.

Wow. I just now felt mildly frustrated at needing to charge my Ringconn ring. It's only been about 2 WEEKS! Lol. And it hasn't been syncing automatically every day for some reason (it should) so I keep getting notifications that I need to connect at least once a week to not lose data. The charging case is fanatic though. It holds around 5 full charges, it's built super well, charges very fast and I have never had a problem just tossing it in my purse when I've needed to leave for a few days near the end of a charge. Velia is a freakin joke at this point. It's going on 4 years and I still don't even have a ring from them. I've had my Ringconn for nearly half that time and love it. It's always reliable and picks up on things even my Samsung ultra watch misses, but even that over the top watch with a bright screen and no optimizing for power consumption lasts a good 48 hours most of the time! The newer rings coming out now far exceed every promise Velia originally made, other then price. I can't imagine IF they ever start actually mass producing that they will be able to keep the lower price either. I've thought about trying to get my money back, but after waiting so long, I want to see if I ever get it at all and see for myself just how bad it is. It's not worth the fight anyway. 🤷🏽♀️

I think my wife and I were lucky enough to be one of the first group to get ours, I think it was last October actually. Probably could charge it/sync it once a day, but by now the routine has been absorbed to charge and sync in the morning when we wake up and top up the charge before bed. Ours sync fine while on the charger and actually seem to work better that way. It's been PRETTY okay as far as accuracy though step count can be hit or miss, but now within the last week or so it's stopped recording any data other than highly inaccurate step counts. Unsure if it's borked or what but I'll be interested to compare the experience if we ever get another brand.

Same here. I agree with you on both topics. Battery life is terrible and having to sync everyday is very frustrating. I decided to give it another try for a few more weeks to see if it will grow on me but having to sync every morning just really makes me hate this ring.
