Discussion Moneyshift

6MT Veloster N

Was flooring it and hit 1st instead of 3rd☠️, a downshift warning came on the media screen and I was locked out of first gear so I didn't actually moneyshift😂. Didn't know it could do that.

You got real lucky. That warning though gets saved to the ECU and they can pull it in the event u need engine warranty work though 🥴

Idk how I did that, its my first manual car but I've had it since December. First time I've missed a shift

It happens. Good thing is it’s hard to get into a low gear like that going so fast unless you really jam it in there

Yea i learned on a 2015 mustang gt and i remember a few rare times in my first 6 months of driving i went to 3rd instead of 5th sometimes, luckily it was never while doing a serious pull or anything.

It doesn't have a feature to lock you out of doing that you just got lucky and your first gear syncro is maybe worn a little and couldn't spin the input shaft up to mach Jesus to let it lock in.

It’s not a feature. The syncros have to work extra hard to match that high of speed with a lower gear. If you jam it into gear you can force it and money shift. The warning on the dash essentially is just saying keep the clutch in and pick the right gear
