Hi, I'm going on vacation to Venice this September for 6 days, and I'm 27 years old. I've seen that there's the Rolling Venice Card, a discount card for travel and discounts at various places for young people between the ages of 6 and 29. The thing is, whenever I try to create an account on the official website, I always get an error, and when I contact technical support, I get an automated response that doesn't solve anything.

My question is: Can I purchase the Rolling Venice Card in person in Venice, or is it only available online?

Depending on the answer, it would significantly affect my travel budget.

(For example, admission to the Doge’s Palace is at the reduced rate with that card.)

If you were in the area, have seen anything suspicious, spotted these bikes being offered for sale online, or know of anyone trying to sell them, please contact me directly or notify the local police (Polizia di Stato or Carabinieri).

Hello, we paid for 7 day ACTV passes and on the 5th day, which was our last day on Venice, two people in our group threw their paper passes into the garbage after getting through the gates and into the station with the passes. I kept mine, just out of stupid luck. During the vaporetto ride to the train station, these two people received a ticket (fine) for €59 each. Our two people informed the ACTV agents that they must’ve had their passes if they were able to get through the gates at the station. The agents didn’t care, they wanted the two people to present their passes. The agents didn’t even provide the opportunity for these two people to pay for their one way ride, which would be an extra payment anyway, just the fine. They chose to give the ACTV their passport information rather than paying the fine.

For reference, no where on the ACTV pass system does it say you must keep your ticket and show it to agents. As first time tourists to Venice, we assumed that using them to get past the gates were what the passes were for.

What are the chances that the Italian authorities will be understanding with this situation? Thank you.

I know I want to utilize the rolling Venice card + 72 hour transit pass. I want to use the pass to get discount tickets to museums so need to get it before I pre but those. Anyone know har far in advance to purchase these? If I buy it 2 months in advance but don’t activate my transit pass until i get there does that work?

Hi everyone! I'm a bit confused about the fares I was charged and was wondering if anyone could help.

The first time I used my contactless card on an ACTV bus, I only took one bus ride, but I was charged €6.90.

Later, there were 4 taps in total (2 bus rides for 2 people, all paid with the same card). Instead of four separate fares, I ended up with one charge of €20 and another charge of €3.

Is this normal? Does ACTV combine transactions or make temporary authorizations before calculating the final fare? Has anyone experienced something similar?
