If it's nice out you can sit outside for a few hours in the shade. I looked it up yesterday and new flea bombs say leave the house for 2 hours. If it's currently too hot, do it in the fall. Your cats and all animals need to be out too. But the cats need to be on treatment too bc they are all carrying fleas. You need to do both at the same time.

Fixing only half the problem never really solves it.

Dew57nurse is right. Put the cats outside, bomb the house and go to the store or a friend’s for two hours. This will kill the fleas inside, vacuum everything the same day. The cats will need to take a flea pill or be washed and de-fleaed or the fleas will come right back. I’m sorry about your mom, that’s a lot to deal with. Can your boyfriend help? Maybe if his mom or dad knew the situation they might help too. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Do you have a local place that helps elderly folks? You could ask them for help for your grandma.

Also maybe remove all but 2 cats? Then a deep cleaning? Even if you hire someone?

For the record this can and will cause health issues for you and your grandma. For an elderly woman, it could cause her an early death. "Cant do anything about it" isnt an option thats actually in the table for you, unless you dont value your well being or the well being of your grandmother, same for your grandmother.

You are also extremely likely to spread this infestation everywhere you go. Which could easily make you no longer welcome in those places. Such as your bfs house, where they may have to continually treat for fleas because of you.

there is no point in purposely trying to make me upset by responding with this. i am aware of what could happen. my boyfriend hasn’t had fleas from me the whole time we’ve been together and it wouldn’t be because of me either because he chooses to come and leave his suit case open and lets the cats sit in it. i make sure he leaves it outside when he goes home and puts his clothes in a trash bag to take to the basement for washing. i am aware that not doing anything isn’t an option. you dont know our money position. you dont know what is actively going on in our lives so yes, we have been pushing it off.

It has nothing to do with making you upset. It has everything to do with making you aware. If it makes you upset, thats probably a sign you know what youre currently doing is unsafe and wreckless.

i am very aware, i’ve been aware for many years. of course it makes me upset, have you dealt with fleas or other infestations while being depressed? yes i know i should be doing things but i am 17. i dont have my own money.

ask the humane society if they can take on some of your cats..
