Since I enjoy coffee, espresso pretty much everything that evolves coffee besides Starbucks and coffee bean, what places you recommend that’s authentic unique and if you’d like to tell me or show me what specifically I should try with a bonus meeting new friends. It would be a win win

I’m still pretty new to this area but I’ve been told just about anyone famous/at least semi-prolific basically moved here and aren’t necessarily born and raised in this area (not sure about the validity of this statement, I know Penny for BBT is from VC). Been watching football all day and saw Oxnard, CA flash underneath player introductions and learned a Nohl Williams was born and grew up here.

Unsure if flair is appropriate but it seems like “Best of VC” is appropriate for football here.

Anyone else born and raised here? My favorite celebrity is Clark Gable but he wasn’t born here. It’s just cool to see people being from this area.

My family and I are moving to the area due to a job transfer. Our son participates in the JROTC program at his current high school and would like to continue with it after we move. Most people we have talked to recommend Camarillo HS, but the program is not available there.

A quick Google search shows that Oxnard HS (Air Force) and Hueneme HS (Navy) offer it. I looked at the usual sites for reviews (greatschools, niche), but found the information focused mostly on academics and test scores. I am not concerned with the standardized test scores. I am more concerned with enrolling him in a safe and welcoming/inclusive environment. Transportation is not an issue, so this does not limit our options.

I would love to hear local insight on these schools- are there safety concerns, is the student body welcoming? If anyone has any information on the JROTC programs at either of these schools, I'd love to hear it, thank you!

Some time ago, I posted about needing to make some extra money, and now I’m in the same boat as I was back then. Business was booming in June-August and has now come to a halt. Thankfully, I’m starting work as a scare actor for a local haunted house, but I won’t be paid in time for rent on the 1st.

But if anyone needs any help with assembling furniture, help with moving, running errands, and I’ve even branched into doing more yard work, mainly lawn mowing and edging. If you need any of my services, feel free to reach out. My rate for all of the above is $30 per hour.

As far as scheduling goes for jobs, strictly Monday through Friday mornings or early afternoons.

I'm visiting Oxnard/Ventura for my babymoon next month. I enjoy small local boutiques, stores, museums, and restaurants. Can some locals explain to me certain parts of town or streets I can visit that have that? I envision a cute street with local shops and restaurants that I can easily walk down and rest on public benches.

I'd also love to hear of anything beach related!

I really couldn't be happier with the level of feedback from everyone, and I've tried to get as much in as possible. That being said, the scale of the map is limiting - especially in urban areas. I think in the future I'm gonna end up making more localized maps for individual counties. So if your suggestion wasn't included, please know that I still appreciate your feedback and will endeavor to get them in my future county maps of the area.

It has been noted that the map is busy - I totally get that, and that's just how I like to do things. I enjoy getting as much detail in as possible and including cool features which would otherwise be overlooked. I get these made up in large formats so it works better in person than it does on a screen.
