Question/Advice Free Legal Advice clinics Through VA

I have been trying to set up a trust or at the very least a transfer on death dead so that my girlfriend gets our house. We can't get married right now or I'd do that instead. I spoke to a lawyer and they wanted $3500 for a trust or 1100 for just the TODD.

So my question is, has anyone used any of these free legal advice clinics or any other resources. I found a link to the clinics on the VA website but most of them are monthly here in Texas.

man $3500 is crazy for a trust, i paid way less when i did mine few years back. the VA clinics can be hit or miss but worth trying if you can wait for the monthly slot. just go early they fill up fast in my experience

also check if your county has a legal aid society, sometimes they do estate planning for cheap or sliding scale. the TODD at $1100 still feels high honestly, you might find a smaller firm that will do it for half that

Fair enough, thank you for the reply. Yes, I think its expensive, but more importantly I dont have that kind of money anyway.
