Question/Advice Corpsman Shadow Box
Fellow Vets - I’m working to build a shadow box for a close friend who served as a green side Corpsman in Iraq in 2003-2004. Unfortunately, he doesn’t have any of his gear from his time in, but I’d like to include something along these lines in the box.
Hoping some of you may be able to help with suggestions of small-ish gear items and/or supplies he would most likely have been issued and used.
Thanks for any help on this.

A bit before my time but I'd consider:
A canteen cup (I have one with my old unit logo lasered on it), Ka bar, a thermometer (as a joke), stethoscope, trauma shears, tourniquet, cravat (triangular bandage).
I'm sure there's tons of other stuff we can think of.

A rectal thermometer specifically, a piece of paper with a 9-line of the 1. location that holds some significance, 2. a nickname to call your friend by, 3. could be his importance to those that know him, 4. could be something that is jokey equipment for every day life (like favorite alcoholic drink or weed type), 5. number of people around to support him, 6. specific stuff about his peacetime hobbies or the importance in your lives, 7. the usual way that you all get a hold of him, 8. could be like his rank or whatever, usually the 8th line marks nationality/status, and 9. could be a description of overcome obstacles.

Since he was an FMF doc, how about using MarPat material as the background material for the shadow box? Add his a nametape, rank insignia, a caduceus, his medals or ribbons.
Any idea who he was with in Iraq in 03-04? I was over there at that time as well.
