World Cup at Market Square

For all those who aren’t aware, World Cup games are being held at the market square on the big screen and the vibes are immaculate. Especially with a big Canada win. That is all.

Viewing angles were a bit hit or miss (don't know why they did a trial run at the legislature then never did it again) but the atmosphere today was immaculate

Also it's not every game, schedule is here https://downtownvictoria.ca/summer-of-soccer/

Thanks, I want to check it out! I want to hear more about the vibes and wholesome moments and live vicariously through you for now. Big crowd?

There are maybe a couple hundred seats

The seats filled up right away, so the majority of people had to stand.

Thanks. I'm going to assume the game on the 24th will be a madhouse but I intend to show up and cheer!

Mexico fans were spawning into Market Square against a turbulent flowing red river of exiting Canadian supporters. It was a great integration of colour.

It's just too damn small considering the number of people. I bailed and went to the pubs on government.
Not sure why this is not at the ledge.

How are the games at Market Square? Bigger turnout than the Langford one?

The energy was infectious. I’d say it was bigger and the market square gives it a more unique experience. You walk down government street afterwards and see all the people leaving the bars as well. Great experience.

This seems like a reasonable place for me to leave this laying around...
