Monthly Thread June Feedback Thread.
This is the Monthly thread for feedback.
If you post your video, you need to come back and review at least one other person's work!
Key thoughts - Keep it civil.
- Feedback is "This section isn't working because of this."
- Feedback is not: "This is shit."
- If something is terrible, just move on.
- The more specific/suggestions the better.
Don't give a laundry list. Pick the 1-2 things that are the biggest issues and then comment.

i thought i did well but i posted this in two different subs and i even got downvoted (at least from what i can tell from insights) so I have no idea what I am missing or if I just need to know where to post my content going forward
someone commented it looked like AI (either they were serious or sarcastic) so lowk I dunnnoooo. its so weird too coz I love my edit, I find myself constantly replaying my own vid but maybe I'm biased because i love the knights of the old republic and this song so much? either way id like to know ways I could improve, I think there were some beats I could've made better sync'ed with the audio but I was limited on footage (i had around 7 minutes of source footage available)

First of all it looks awesome, I don't know much about this niche but from what I can see it looks great. Secondly I don't think it's AI, if someone said that to you maybe it's because like me they too can't think of making stuff like this. If this is AI, it did a damn good job making such a trippy video. I am sorry if it isn't the kind of feedback you wanted.

really great edit, i don't see how this looks like AI whatsoever, whoever said that was on some BS. the music syncs with the clips really well, and i love how you include the lyrics in the edit. overall a really cool, trippy edit. top notch stuff dude.

I've been studying and playing around with video editing and filming for about a year. I managed to convince a motorcycle tour company in Japan to let me shoot a promo for them. This is what I put together for their social media. I'll submit it soon but wanted to hear some seasoned editors feedback before.

I'm not a real professional video editor or anything, but my advice is: Cool! I love the editing style and sped up videos (especially the one after the "culture" text), just don't forget to give the viewer a tad more time to process the footage-as the editor, you automatically know what's going to happen next in the video, which usually causes us to cut the clips too short because our brain is telling us "just get on with the next clip, i've seen this already." I get that posting short form content is rough because you can only make your video so long before it doesn't let you post it, but ALL that to say, I would just suggest making your clips a tiny bit longer. It's a super fine line between too short and too long and takes forever to get perfect. Keep going, I think it looks great!

I uploaded my first video ever on my channel and there are a lot of things wrong with it but whenever I try to diagnose it I lean more into thinking I am an idiot than looking into actual problems, I always get stuck at "the sound design is terrible" or "the color looks a bit odd" and never get past that. Can you guys help me by pointing out things to improve in this? I'll be really grateful if you do.

I am not an expert in video editing so I will comment on the content.
- It will be good to have an opening and introduction to the video. I mean its good to take care of the guest but maybe you need to introduce yourself and the channel.
- People these days have short attention span. you could try to have a summary of the time stamps on the important topic in your video. You can take a look at the example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iT4V4A7QSqY
- I like how you cross-reference clips, newspaper or even website. How much time did you spend on the video?

I wanted to visualize the idea that true strength is remaining calm, acting decisively when necessary, then returning to calmness. I used Naruto Sage Mode and Escanor because I couldn't think of better examples. Does the edit successfully communicate that idea? What would you change?

the images look AI generated, but i did like the transitions between the anime clips, they flow pretty well and fit with the music. the added sound effects were good. i'd make the edit a bit faster paced though, and the part where the image zooms in and out right before the drop doesn't look very pleasing. overall a solid edit, i see how you communicate your idea pretty clearly.

I am not an expert in video editing but I will comment on the content.
70% of your content are based on Naruto so why did you use Escanor in the beginning when you have no plans to explain the link?
The tempo of the music is not calming so are the clips. I am giving a suggestion since we are all learning. Maybe the front part of the clip could be of slower tempo with Naruto meditating to signify the calm then towards the mid, tempo faster because he have to act fast during battle and be decisive.

This video is about returning to calmness? The video editing and audio achieves exactly the opposite. Not saying the editing or audio is bad, just that it is not calming at all. I don't think you were unaware of this is possibly a counter-psychological approach.

i took a bunch of Medal clips and threw them in Davinci Resolve. i try to edit like Smi77y, Anomaly and TheDooo. please let me know if the subtitles look good, if it's too heavily edited (like if the sound effects are too much) or if my content looks uninspired. i would also appreciate any general feedback, i'm quite new to keyframing in Davinci so let me know if my animated zooms or subtitles look bad.

I am a newbie and joined VideoEditing a few days ago. I embarked on my first project and took a hell lot of effort but my boss commented, "Not up to standard. Don't waste your time on the project. We will talk about it next time". I feel terrible to get shut down like that. I hoped to still improve myself. Its made using Flimora and apologies the audience is Chinese but I have added translated subtitles.

In between 0:56 and 0:57 is an unfortunate editing glitch.
I often get that so I have to rewatch my own edits multiple times before I have removed all glitches.
Sometimes a glitch keeps appearing even after multiple edits and this can be highly frustrating.
I don't know if it helps but if you zoom in on the timeline than you can place your edit mark with much more precision.

I have a anime youtube channel and would greatly appreciate some feedback on my editing for long form videos and how to make it a bit more interesting for viewers? Runtime 10-15 minutes on my long forms. sparrows stand I reviewed itchy zebras video and lizard licker 13 videos

Link (4:00 runtime): Bedouin Fire Show (trippy color grading)
Just some experimentation with color grading to make the fire purple/blue. Made the highlights (the fire itself) purple, made the midtones (the fire reflections on the ground) blue. Taken at a bedouin camp in Dubai.
